It’s so funny to me that I’ve somehow become an ATLA blog, because for most of my time in fandom, I’ve been into multiple stories at once, and ATLA was never really one of my main ones, and then I made a tumblr account right in the middle of the ATLA renaissance and ended up following a bunch of ATLA blogs, and now I spend so much time reading/writing meta/headcanons/fanfics and looking at fanart for this one specific fandom, and I’d really like start following blogs for some of my other fandoms to throw in some variety.
My main (non-Avatar) fandoms right now are:
The Dragon Prince Fairy Tail Inuyasha Magi: Labyrinth of Magic Miraculous Ladybug Spy x Family Tales of Arcadia Harry Potter
Can any of y’all recommend some good accounts that post about those fandoms for me?
Algeria plans to build 4 gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity in five years, increasing the country’s solar power capacity 10-fold – a bold target. How will Algeria achieve this target? With a lot of money. “The so-called TAFOUK1 project, the work of the Energy Ministry, foresees the investment of US$3.2–3.6...
Dawdling
Dawdling somewhat in the half-midst of first/second draft edits. I don’t know where to start now really, which I presume is just procrastination.
I just dawdled on writing the rest of this post for a whole twenty-four hours.
Since turning in a first draft (with one read-through and plot edit done) I have opened out my writing plans, and now I don’t know where to focus my attention. And really it should be the book, I know.
Still, I’m writing this blog now because i read I should (and I’m still not sure what I’m going to get from this, but I’m going with it), I’m spending time trying to understand what the hell tumblr is actually all about (reading articles, trying to find people to follow and then unfollowing them when I see their annoying posts pop up in my feed - must unfollow all poets. Sorry poets, I just don’t understand it at all), have written a short story which I’ve submitted into a competition, and have found other competitions to submit to but don’t have any short story ideas (and these come without prompts and longer word counts - I need the constraints) so keep trying to form short stories from little bits of things that I notice and that happen and I lose faith in it, thinking that it’s lacking heart or a point. Okay, that’s being a writer, I know.
My next read for my novel is also the character one. I think that first I should complete all my character bios, as I had so many characters and not really enough time to fully hash them out, so I keep holding myself back because I haven’t done them yet, but not really wanting to do them. I also have two different formats for character bios - one is long, the other one has more difficult questions. I am having serious CBA about both (Can’t Be Arsed). So I should do them now. But they also feel like procrastination too - shouldn’t I just get on with the edit itself? I’ve printed it out now, no excuse.
I should be clear, though, I am a dawdler by nature - I love it, and am incapable of no other state in some areas of my life. Like walking. Rush me at your peril. I abhor rushing. Maybe there’s a short story in there?
Do Americans even say “dawdle”?
