Spotlight Ninian Nijhuis (University of Amsterdam) - Carl G. Jung: Fantasy, Madness, and the Exploration of Consciousness Interview Highlights: Ninian begins by talking about the recently published Black Books and Red Book by Jung, and how the Black Books acted as journals to explore Jung's own consciousness. She then discusses the fantasy Jung had about a 'madhouse', who Jung 'met' in the fantasy, and what Jung was trying to 'sort out' in all of this. This leads to a discussion about pathological madness and divine madness, what distinguishes the two, and how Jung perceived religious experience. Ninian also touches on Jung's struggle to balance his professional life and his spiritual/religious life, his emphasis on an "attitude of openness" and his ideas of how a person can have a "self-regulating consciousness."

FREE DOWNLOAD!Madness has always fascinated and terrified the mind of man, in equal measure. In today's medicalized, 'normalized' world, it has come to be seen simply as a 'disease', an ugly blight on the smooth, cog-like operation of the social organism. Our very language has become impoverished by the steady stream of scientistic neologisms which have rushed to take its stead, leaving us with only the cold apparatus of an all-too suspect, bullying and antiseptic 'Reason'. Once the most intimate bedfellow not only of depthless despair, but also of high ecstasy and genius, we seem to have all but forgotten the myriad enchantments with which this fateful 'daimon' – to quote Socrates - once tempted us.
Channeled for the month of August: Allow yourself the room to play, glowing at your highest frequency. Rise from the depths of the unknown mystery, bringing forth your light. What inside is ready to emerge? —NEFERTUM Excited to share a new series of writing called The Stream. Every first week of the month I'll be posting a message channeled from a Neteru guide, as well as a poem, story, prose, whatever has come through from the previous month. I have been pulled to work with the Neteru of ancient Egypt—the many faces of the Divine—and so, it feels only right to share that with the world as guidance for us all. Full writing will be exclusively posted to our website. Link for this months writing in bio. Subscribe to stay updated! Love, Olivia .
