@divineviclinist inquired ─── i could hear your heart from across the room.
❝ 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐝. ❞ David confirmed, ignoring the subtle gathering of sweat forming below the crisp collar of his shirt. ❝ And I am sure it was in quite a frenzy to your sensitive ears, no doubt. Does your kind experience the heavy beats of mortals often ? Or is it only when you hunt that such a phenomenon occurs so vividly, I wonder . . . ❞
Of course, there was no denying the devil-defying symmetry of his perfect immortal face playing a key part in David's amazement. Openly, he thought to himself it was no wonder that the now famously published Lestat could not have denied taking him into 'the dark gift', as they coined it in their world.
Tilting his head, then leaning back into his seat with a well-practiced ease, David added with a slightly self-deprecating smile, ❝ I am getting older, you see. ❞ He was in his late 50's now, and his heart was perpetually struggling against its every beat despite his good life. But he was so very deadly curious to know the sort of life this risen violinist wanted to lead & had led without the need of one. He knew the Talamasca would be vehemently against his interfering with a vampire, this was practically a crime. But David had often operated on a do first, ask for forgiveness later mindset more than he cared to admit.
His curiosity naturally would lead him to want to help a supernatural being before him that was in need, despite the imminent danger ... But ...
Oh! If his disciples could see him now, if only Aaron were here to chastise him.
But they were not.
Only this lovingly chiseled masterpiece unveiled from his long sleep from the world's eye, soon to debut again was before David. And what would his maker, long gone, think of such a surely auspicious event ... ?
