what is the problematic scene with 2moons?

Hi anon! You can read more about my thoughts on 2moons the original here and here, but essentially there are a lot of core problems with the og series (that I think also stemmed from the novel in some cases). Basically,

demonizing almost all female characters that have lines in the show

reliance on toxic jealousy as a plot advancer

some rape jokes, although I get that it’s also been lost in translation

a boring and demeaning top/bottom dynamic that was supposed to tell you who belonged together instead of actually showing any onscreen chemistry (forthbeam was a major victim of this)

there were some genuine, beautiful, and poignant moments of 2moons og and its ver of mingkit were my darlings! 

buuut it doesn’t change that there were a lot of issues with the way the show treated queer and female characters, how it treated queer actors, and how it treated the og cast. that said, ep1 was pretty promising :) and if this new iteration of the show leaves the yucky contents of s1 behind, i might be able to look past how they fucked over sbfive (bas, kim, cop, tee, tae) and newyear.

overly apparent top/bottom couple designations in BL is a pretty lazy + degrading way to indicate that two characters work well in a relationship together 

like i feel like a lot of BL media relies on the disparities in dominance (that they create) to prove that two characters are meant to be together??? rather than show in an innumerable amount of ways that they simply love each other or are attracted to each other.

oof, well that was an experience I just had. Poor Mental Health rant below. cw: BPD, memory loss

I lost a $360 paycheck, and in the process of looking for it, discovered I had conflicting memories of what happened yesterday. Talked to my partner, turns out those conflicting memories were Saturday and Sunday mashed together and I actually had zero memory of Sunday evening until this morning.

I haven't lost time like this in over a year. I've been under a lot of stress so I'm trying not to be too upset about it. She helped me piece some things together so I have a vague timeline of yesterday now. But it still feels like I dreamed the entire thing and I can't fucking hold onto the chronology of any of it.

Anyway BPD sucks and it's been in remission for months but I'm feeling on the verge of a relapse. It's like sitting at the top of a roller coaster rail, knowing the cart is moving forward, and realizing you don't actually want to ride and you can't do anything to stop the spiral.

I'm panicky and scared. We're both about to be under some pretty heavy scrutiny for reasons I can't really get into here, and this is pretty much the worst time for a cluster b disorder to rear its head, so send me good vibes if you feel inclined please. I'm going to try to do my best in the next few days.
