I would bet that hip-hop music is one of the most influential genres of music out there, and that no other genre has had such a big effect on culture, style, fashion, and the way we produce music. Hip hop music is instantly recognizable by different music listeners, and since hip hop music is created from element of music that have already existed, it’s not hard to see why sounds and noises are so common. You hear it on the radio, the air horn or the reggae horn. Although these did not start with rap music, they tend to use them the most.

The same goes for the fresh and Ahh sound, which can be heard in other types of music, even electronic music – but yet again these are sounds that have originated from hip hop music and DJs who scratch. The “laser” sound is actually common in many types of music – but is heard most often in electronic music. Sometimes they are turned into “rave stabs” with the same purpose. Scratch DJs can also create the laser effect using a sample on a record, but to a different effect. Regardless of where the sound comes from, it can be used in many types of music.
