DJBC Tumblr Summer 21 - The People's Mural (The Process of a Mural)
Here was the progress of the creation of "The People's Mural" along the wall of Simakovsky Law Offices in Franklin Park, created by Bryan Christopher Moss and Hanif Abdurraqib.
You can stop or pass by the mural, located at 1450 East Main Street in Franklin Park, at the corner of Miller Avenue, along the side of Simakovsky Law, an immigration law office located on the Near East Side of Columbus.
Never Forget 20 Years Later - Honor 365 World Trade Center
Tomorrow marks the 20th Anniversary of the September 11th Attacks. Last month, an exhibit from Honor 365, featuring a replica of the World Trade Center from a 20 year-old Dutch firefighting trainee made its stop to the National Veteran's Memorial and Museum in Franklinton, before heading off to New York last week for the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. Here were some highlights of this special exhibit, which came to the U.S. last winter from The Netherlands, with its first stop in Utah back in February.
On a side note, the Museum is holding a commemoration at 9AM tomorrow at their Museum in Franklinton (300 West Broad Street). Don't forget your masks when you attend.
Never Forget 9/11 (Bonus Post) - Mott's 9/11 Display at the Home and Garden Show
This weekend, to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, Mott's Military Museum had a special display of some of their 9/11 artifacts at the Home and Garden Show at the Ohio Expo Center, including a New York/New Jersey Port Authority Cruiser that was on site of the attacks.
It was a busy weekend for Mr. Motts and his museum, as the museum hosted a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony with free admission on Saturday for the community at their Groveport museum, which has lots of 9/11 Artifacts.

Never Forget - Grandview Heights First Responder Flags
If you've been hiking, biking, or driving down Grandview Avenue between Goodale Boulevard and the Municipal Building (1016 Grandview Avenue), you may have noticed the flags along the east side of Grandview Avenue. Each flag has the name of a first responder killed on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. These were brave men (and women) who never returned home from their last call, or their last run.

July closed out with the Whitehall Food Truck Festival along Yearling Road in Whitehall, with food trucks, live music, and more. Here were a few highlights from the Festival in the afternoon.
National Vietnam Veteran's Day - The Wall That Heals
Today (March 29) is Vietnam Veteran's Day, a day where we honor all veterans from the Vietnam War (1954-1975). Last year on Memorial Day Weekend, the National Veteran's Museum and Memorial hosted The Wall That Heals, which was a mobile exhibit with a replica of the Vietnam Memorial.
It was an experience that will not be forgotten. We highly recommend you to see the actual Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C.
DJBC Tumblr 21 - And The Winners Are
2021 is over. DJBC Tumblr trips around town will resume (Lord Willing and the Creek Don't Rise) in the Spring of 2022, probably May at the absolute latest. But, it was a wild eight months back into the world, as events started popping up as soon as people got vaccinated. Here were our favorites (click on the photos to see the nominees in each category).
We've got a few more Holiday Posts up over the next week, leading up to the Nativity Posts next week, on the actual 12th Day of Christmas, because after the 344th gift is opened, the Three Wise Men will come a knockin' (if you didn't understand that, please do your Christmas research).
And hopefully, we'll have some of those favorites and perennial Tumblr Summer stops that we've missed in person over the last couple of years, return in 2022.

Another year of Fourth Friday has come and gone in Westerville. With the changes that came due to COVID, there were only four Fourth Fridays this year, and we only went to one - the July Fourth Friday, held on July 23 in Uptown Westerville, before cases went up with the Delta Variant (which caused the September Fourth Friday to be cancelled).
