2015 | JULY 18 This past week has been crazy! We adopted a dog for my parents, a beautiful shepherd/husky mix named Sam. She and Snow love each other so much its unbelievable! Some pretty amazing foodie adventures too! Had seoul sausage for the second time and it was better than I remembered. Tried DK donuts for the first time at BF Jewelry's party downtown. Also, tried Faith & Flower for DineLA and man were those deviled eggs to die for! Ps, thats only 1/3 of my shoe closet. I never count how many I have. I prefer to live in denial. Happy weekending!

Stuff I Tried: DK's Donuts "Cronut" I was in Santa Monica so I decided to see what all the cronut hype was about. Upon pulling up to the parking lot I see a group posing inside the store with their boxes of bounty to post to instagram. You should know that each one here is about $5. Already I'm thinking "are you fucking kidding me?"... but I'll give it a fair chance since I love me a buttery croissant and I'm a disgusting human being. That being said I decided on trying all the flavors available: Pineapple coconut, glazed, nutella, strawberry, and some other flavor I can't recall.  Well, they were all disappointing. All of them. Dry croissants filled with bland flavored whip cream. If you enjoy croissants filled with whip cream, then by all means... come here.  But who the hell eats a croissant with whip cream? 

I just personally thought it was awful and threw them all away. I wouldn't even let Jay try them. He was a little angry at me for that one.

If you must try a cronut, may I suggest the mocha custard filled from Kettle Glazed in Hollywood. Bonus points for it being just down the street from UCB.

My current food addiction is DK Donuts.... especially the maple glazed buttermilk brick and apple fritters. Sooooooo delicious! :)
