how I think (some of) the Dungeon Meshi characters would interact with an isekai-ed reader who's hyperfixation is dungeon meshi
includes: Laios, Falin, Kabru, and Toshiro (Shuro)
Laios
im imaging reader meeting him when he was a child
a little after Falin was born and after he was given the dungeon gourmet guide
reader actively seeking him out but kinda starts freaking out when they actually see him
reader decides to go with the approach being interested in his book
Laios was suspicious at first ( the book is one of the main reasons he got bullied )
but after some time and patience he got comfortable with you
I feel that Laios would be very attached to reader
like someone besides his sister who gets him, listens to him, communicates with him, etc.
listen as someone who is very hyperfixated on dungeon meshi at the moment I would be so invested in learning about monsters
and Laios is more then happy to talk about it for hours
reader making a point to support his dream of exploring the dungeons bc his parents are dicks
he wouldn't really be weirded out by reader seems to know so much about him, maybe early on but over time I feel he would just be glad to have someone like that by his side
low-key though,,, I think there would be a small small part of him that is kinda jealous over how reader seems to just,, get some people
Falin
I see reader being her number one hype-person as a child
reader would also beg her to teach them some magic
I think that Falin and reader would meet through Laios
Falin while she is outcasted from her home town, is still a litter more sociable then her brother
but what had her truly open up was not only the readers support of her magical talent but also the readers interest in learning about how biology works in this world
she also info dumps a ton
you know how she kept bringing Marcille things cause she wanted to eat them with her
she would 100% do that with reader,,, and the amount would increase when Laios leaves
Kabru
he would be veryyy fascinated by the reader
his hyperfixation is people. studying them, their anatomy, psychology, how they tick
he would absolutely notice how reader picks up on things, knows things about some people without even having met them, predict events
to put it simply he wants to study reader under a microscope but is also extremely suspicious of them
he's also gonna pull out all the stops to try charm his way into understanding reader
his distrust sky rockets the first time they lock eyes, he can see it in his eyes, this look of understanding the deepest parts of him
he does not like it
it takes a long ass time for him trust them and genuinely open up again
reader making a point to ask things that will make him want to info dump
"hey did you notice how x was acting today" or "did you hear that x and y got together? do you think they'll make it?"
gossip buddies
Toshiro
ALRIGHT LET ME START BY SAYING THIS, HE IS WAYYYY TOO MISCHARACTERIZED IN THIS FANDOM
and reader would be all too aware of this as well
he is heavily implied to have a hyperfixation on bugs, and had to at a young age become a master at masking and picking up on social norms
but anyways-
he would think reader is weird, mostly bc they would remind him of laios
slowly but surely I feel he would feel more comfortable
another case of the way to his heart is through the info dump
maybe walking back from a little adventure and noticing a beetle and showing him
now hes not gonna be as outwardly as excited as Laios
but it is slightly noticeable that he is interested and excited
reader offers to give it to him and asks him some questions
less info dumping and more info sprinkling but still he does like to talk about it
I think he would appreciate how they seem to pick up on his smaller details, maybe not a perfectly but still
Laios, Marcille, and Chilchuck with a reader who sings
authors’ note: not meant as a professional singer or idol, more like a freetime singer. it can be intrepreted any way though! also more romantic
Laios
— Laios is your #1 hype man
— Whether you’re embarrassed or not, he’ll come across you singing, waiting until you’re finished.
— Once you’re done, you’ll hear slow clapping from behind you, getting louder and faster.
— You slowly turn around and see Laios standing there, clapping.
— “WOOO!!! So good!! I didn’t know you sang!!! That’s amazing!!”
— He’ll hug you and ask you more.
— If you’ve ever performed, if you play instruments while singing, how long you’ve been singing, etc.
— If you’re embarrassed, thinking you’re not good enough, he will immediately dispel your doubts.
— You’re amazing, he loves it, he loves you, and he wants to hear more.
— If you sing softer songs, he’ll listen, maybe even tear up a bit, Laios thinks they’re beautiful.
— If you’re a rockstar or metalhead, maybe even with your own band, he’ll watch you sing and perform and still love it.
Marcille
— Again, Marcille comes across you, alone, singing softly to yourself.
— My girl would probably completely interrupt and just shout, “YOU SING?!?”
— “Why wouldn’t you tell me??”
— If you two have any “songs” about your relationship, Marcille would ask you to sing it.
— She seems like the type of person to ask you to lie down with her while she tries to sleep, be quiet for a few minutes while you stroke her hair, and then all-of-the-sudden asking, “can you sing me a song?”
— She will persist until you do so.
— Totally brags about you
— “Well MY PARTNER can sing! Ha!” With her arm around your shoulder
— If you’re singing a love song she’ll just stare straight at you, zoning out a bit, just staring at you.
— Marcille loves your singing.
Chilchuck
— Chilchuck stumbles across you singing, staying to listen before vanishing when it ends.
— Later, at any random point, he’ll just come out and say, “So, I didn’t know you could sing?”
— You’ll be totally shocked and surprised, asking when he heard you.
— He won’t answer of course, just insists you tell him about it.
— He’ll try not to act too impressed, but will let out a few silent “wow..”s when you tell him.
— Chilchuck tries to listen more often, and if you catch him, he’ll just shrug, blush and grin—hands behind his neck as he walks away.
— If you sing softer, more quiet songs, he’ll try to sit next to you and listen sometimes. It’s strangely calming for him, listening to you sing.
— If you’re in a band, or you rock, he’ll definitely watch. Chilchuck thinks that’s totally badass.
— He’d rather die than admit it, but he enjoys listening to you and your voice.
SUMMARY — Draco experiences love at first sight for the first time.
PAIRING — Draco Malfoy x reader
YEAR — sixth.
GENRE — one shot, strangers to potential lover,
WORD COUNT — idk, but not a lot hahahah.
WARNINGS — I didn’t proofread !!
Draco couldn’t believe it. He never believed in love at first sight, thinking only fools could fall under one’s spell without ever uttering a word to them. But there he was, completely smitten by the gaze of a girl he’d never seen before.
When he first met your gaze, Draco felt the entire world disappear: You were laughing carelessly with your friends and your eyes turned into crescent moons when you curled up your lips. And from that moment on, he knew that he’ll do anything to prevent any tears from falling from your beautiful eyes. It was a silent promise he made to himself, and he vowed to never break it.
What could he say about those eyes? Draco could write an entire encyclopedia on how your stare made him wrapped around your finger like a puppet. Those orbs of yours looked like they held the entire constellations of the universe and draco was a part of it.
« Draco, are you even listening to me? » Blaise waved his hand in front of his friend’s eyes to pull him out of his daydream. Draco shook his head to wake himself up from his reverie, and then took conscience of his surroundings: he was in one of the many hallways of Hogwarts, discussing with Blaise and Theodore.
To fuel even more his friends’ confusion about his demeanor, Draco suddenly walked away from his friends to walk towards you who was talking enthusiastically about a subject that seemed to make your friends laugh out loud.
As soon as draco stood behind you, the laughter died down and your friends looked at him curiously. Wondering why your friends stopped laughing, you turned around only to meet they grey eyes of the notorious Slytherin boy.
The eyes are the doors to the soul, or so they say ; and when you met Draco’s eyes at for the first time, he knew that you were such an innocent soul. In that moment, all that draco wanted to do was to adore you.
« I’d do anything for you, » he pondered to himself, or so he thought for you looked at him with confusion, « I’m sorry what? » you chuckled. Draco wanted to slam his head on the wall, « Uh— I mean, what’s your name? I’ve never seen you around before, are you new? » you nodded « My name’s y/n y/l/n, and yes i’ve transferred from durmstrang, » you smiled gently at him, « how about you? » you asked, « I’m Draco Malfoy and I’ve been here since forever. » Your eyes smiled again, and draco felt his cold heart melt more than he’d like to admit.
« Nice to meet you draco. » Before draco could open his mouth, the school bell rang signaling the end of recess, « I’ve got to go draco, I have class right now, » you said. Draco was too lost in your eyes to reply to you, and as you didn’t know what to do, you smiled awkwardly before starting to leave with your friends to your next class.
Draco got out of his daydream realizing that you were no longer in front of him and turned his gaze quickly to the direction you were going to, « Bye y/n! I hope to see you soon, » he waved his hand excitedly. You turned around to look at him and waved back at him, « bye draco, » you smiled warmly.
« Well that was interesting, » Blaise put his hand on Draco’s shoulder. « And a bit embarrassing not gonna lie, » Theodore added making draco glare at him, « Shut up Nott, » the blond boy said, « let’s go, we’re about to be late to Snape’s class, » Blaise laughed at his friends.
whatever had happened last night was certainly all a blur. i might’ve been under the minorest of minor influence, but i was sober enough to remember every detail. the only confusing part - why? although the six and a half minutes in the closet were suspenseful, hot, lustful, the person it was with was vile, evil, the worst.
despite the confusion from my last night’s occurrences, at least i was sure of one thing in the current moment; weasley certainly knew how to embarrass himself.
the class watched as he awkwardly danced with professor mcgonagall, stiff and grimacing the whole time. the gramophone played some old classical music - some rather pleasant melody if only the scene before us wasn’t so abhorrent.
more training, though this was for the yule ball in a few months time, part of the triwizard tournament tradition. when it had been announced, it took one wordless glance between me and theo and it was sealed - of course we’d attend as eachother’s dates.
the history between me and theo was one that our mothers gushed over often; we met at a garden party hosted by my family, and our mums were old bestfriends from their time at hogwarts. the two of us weren’t shy at the age of six, and we spent the entire day eating hors d’oeuvres, running around the gardens and hedge maze, mocking the prestigious attitude of the guests and then begging for one more hour together when the party ended.
it was thanks to us that our mothers both reconciled their friendship, and since then we’d see eachother at least once a week. when we were six months into a strong friendship and saw his parents having a typical ‘married couple’ argument, we both agreed that relationships seemed much too difficult and that eventually, he’d end up being my husband, me as his wife (because, at six, who cared about the whole process of dating, anyway). that way, we’d be able to always be eachother’s dates to fancy events, and not have to bother with all the other stuff.
we pinky promised to get married when we were adults - pretty light stuff for kids, right? despite that being nothing but an inside joke as of now, we still always went together for family balls, dances etc. it was tradition.
“now, can everyone please get a partner. ready? great, we now commence the dance! everyone, one two three, one two three...”
the students piled onto the empty classroom floor, waltzing while talking amongst themselves. i laughed as theo extended a hand, bowing in the most gentlemanly fashion. “may i have this dance, my lady?” i faked a curtsy and lowered myself before taking his hand, “you may, good sir.”
our dancing was easy and familiar, something we had done together in many, many events before this yule ball. i glanced around at the other pupils, subtly smiling as most of them awkwardly stepped on their partner’s toes and stumbled over themselves. it wasn’t until a few moments later that i saw a very bored, very blank faced blonde, dancing perfectly with a clearly swooning girl. i turned back to theo and bowed my head lowly to hide my laugh. he chuckled at me, “what?”
i nudged my head in the direction of malfoy and smirked, “looks like he’s having a good time.”
theo glanced behind my shoulder and smirked back, leaning in closer to speak quietly, “parkinson’s in love with him - looks like the feeling isn’t mutual?”
i sighed just before he dipped me in synchronisation with everyone else, then replied when i came back up, “unrequited love - is there anything more tragic?” my voice teasingly theatrical. no reply came from my dancing partner.
the routines went on for about ten more minutes before it finally ended, and everyone left for the end of lesson to lunch.
as we exited the room, i heard everyone excitedly chatting about the dance - what they’d be wearing, who’d they’d be going with, that sort of thing.
a ravenclaw, lily moon, nudged me, “are you coming to hogsmeade this weekend? a few of us girls are going to try on gowns at ‘merideth’s’.”
i shook my head, “it’s okay, thanks lily. i’ll just ask my mother to send one over.” she nodded and paced away to the great hall as daphne came by my side and linked arms with me.
“blaise zabini. what do you think?”
i raised an eyebrow, “malfoy’s friend? he’s quite tolerable. gentlemanly. seems well brought up, although maybe a bit of a playboy. why do you ask?”
she nodded in agreement, “he asked me to the ball. i said i’ll think on it - you know, just to keep him on his toes. if he ends up asking another girl then i’ll know i was right in not saying yes straight away,”
i hummed in thought, “and if he waits patiently?”
she grinned, “then i’ll just have to date him, won’t i?”
- TIME SKIP
i was right in asking my mother to send a gown. she knew her daughter and the art of dresses well, choosing one of upmost beauty and class. the dress was a sheen of light mesh and tulle, playfully drifting down my figure in shades of light, little translucent flowers delicately flittered across.
i felt like a princess, especially when my group of friends that waited for me in the common room were left open mouthed and gasping compliments. theo had ever so perfectly matched his tie to the shades of my dress, so we looked like a rather handsome couple as opposed to just bestfriends with a silly promise.
the girls looked beautiful and we all exchanged compliments along the lines of ‘that dress!’ ‘your hair was done by the gods, i swear’ ‘i’m incredibly envious of your date right now...’, the last one emitting a giggle from me as theo playfully glared at daphne.
with me on theo’s arm, just like how we’d done it so many times before, we descended the stairs of the great hall and found it masked to be a literal winter wonderland. the walls were enchanted to be frosted over in faux ice, and pillars were added to create a grander appearance. the roof had been bewitched to appear endless, and to have spitting drifts of delicate snow that greeted the tops of our hair.
for the second time in a couple of months, theo offered his hand and bent at the waist, to which i genuinely curtsied and accepted it. he led me in formal order to the dance floor and we waltzed, just enjoying the atmosphere while talking about everything and nothing - since it was basically just any other ball for us.
classical music whispered all throughout the room, singing beautifully and clear. a long shelf of hor d’oeuvres and refreshments were set to the side, as well as tables and chairs that were only half full of conversing students and teachers. my eyes continued glanced around behind theo’s shoulder, although i wasn’t exactly sure what i was looking for.
it wasn’t until my eyes met the form of a certain prat that the curiosity had been scratched, and i realised with horror that i was subconsciously searching for him.
i purposely sketched a small frown to my face, reminding myself that he was ‘awful’ and ‘the worst’ because, dressed in that alluring, neat two piece of white, his suit was screaming the opposite.
actually, it was probably just because i hadn’t seen him dressed this smartly before.
malfoy was dancing with the same girl as he was that day in class, barely smiling but still looking carefree. for some reason, i hated that. how could he be so free of troubles when he should be busy hating me? had he forgotten his greatest enemy, the one who he hollered insults to down the hallways and across the table at meals?
“something caught your eye, love?” i snapped back to the familiar face of my bestfriend and softened my expression, dropping the scowl.
“just looking at all the different gowns here.”
he offered a sad smile. “it must be hard for you, seeing in black and white still.”
i nodded, not thinking much into his words.
daphne had come with blaise after all, the two of them dancing happily under the mock snow. they gazed lovestruck to eachother, both looking ready to melt as they held one another with gentle endearment. i laughed quietly and directed theo’s attention to the pair. “they’ll definitely end up together, won’t they?” i said rhetorically. despite me not expecting a response, he went against my question anyway - “what? blaise? no way, he’s on a new girl every week.”
i shrugged nonchalantly, “you never know. a girl like daphne can pin anyone down”
-
i needed a break from the dancing, and so i currently stood against the sidelines with a glass of some nonalcoholic beverage in my hands, politely watching the night progress.
the event was still young, still had lots to happen, but i was close to bored at this point. theo was off somewhere, and daphne was still dancing with her lover boy, so i was left to my own devices.
it wasn’t until the song switched to a faster one that i noticed him for the second time tonight, an image that now flashed with disruptions as lots of couples spun and danced past to the speed of the song.
draco malfoy stood on the opposite side of the hall, drink held in one hand and the other tucked in his trouser pocket. he had his rings on clear show around the glass, sparkling under the impossibly bright candlelights, demanding my attention.
he’d also noticed me by now, the two of us making eye contact with an intense expression behind our gazes. i watched as he raked his eyes slowly up and down, studying my dress and probably something else, too. my fingers tightened around my drink as he looked me dead in the eyes, cocked an eyebrow and smirked.
the dancers were still passing in front of his form consistently, quick movements that were controlled by the tempo of the string quartet - and yet i still caught the teasing, wordless suggestions from his mischievous eyes. the double bass echoed alongside a harmonising cello, playing perfectly behind the singing violins.
my emotions stopped at my throat, desperate for me to go over and perhaps insult him, but i forced the words to simmer down and controlled my features into a sweet smile. i made sure an image of unbothered nonchalantness was painted on, before putting my drink down on a table and parting ways with that insufferable oaf and his stare.
outside, the weather was nothing like the enchanted ceiling of the great hall had led us to believe. the rain was coming down purposefully, washing down against a still night. there was no calm snow, but also no harsh winds. just the dark sky, the little stars sewn inside it, and the greeting wash of light downpour.
the astronomy tower showcased it well, and also provided shelter from the bustling sounds of the very much alive ball that was further inside. it was utterly calm up here - absolutely no annoying blondes to spike my irritation or provoke my anger.
i listened to the mellow rolling of thunder in the background, watched as the lightning followed a few moments after. the storm was close, but nothing to be worried about as of yet. the sounds of nature were disturbed by footsteps tapping along wet stone, slowly approaching me from behind. hopefully it wasn’t a stranger coming to make conversation, and hopefully it wasn’t anybody i had to be friendly to. i was in no mood to converse. the relaxing environment i was in had made me so incredibly calm that the thought of exchanging typical pleasantries made me feel exhausted already.
a figure leant against the stone railings next to me, looking off into the distance just as i was. i turned to look at the person before letting out a relieved sigh. “theo, it’s just you.”
he smiled, not turning to look at me.
THEO’S POV
i knew you’d be here.
whether you were sick of the dancing, the music, the talking or even of seeing my friend whom you said you hated so much, i knew you’d be up here.
“you got bored?” you asked. i turned my head this time, looking at your side profile as you noticeably relaxed in the presence of ‘just’ me.
i hummed in reply, watching as your head tilted up in beckoning for the rain to fall against your skin. somehow, i found myself almost jealous that the rain got to touch you. a growl of thunder rolled over the sky, followed a few brief seconds later by a bolt of lightning. it reflected off the Y/E/C in your eyes, dancing in the same way we had done a few half hours ago.
“your dress is pretty, your mother did a great job of choosing it. i suspect that’s your favourite colour?” you turned to nod nonchalantly and smile, then gazed back to the sky.
silly girl. so, so clueless.
“i liked daphne’s dress, too. the pink goes well with blaise’s navy, i think.” i felt you stiffen slightly, listening carefully as i carried on, “and did you notice most girls matched to the colour of their house? god, the amount of red dresses i saw today. gryffindors and their pride,”
your face turned towards me now, clearly confused and making sure you were hearing me right. i still continued, “a shame that it’s so dark. the grass down there is usually so bright, especially after a fresh downpour. oh, and those trees over there, see them? they always blossom really pretty flowers in the summer, but i guess you’ve never seen them before - in colour, i mean.”
i looked at you, not bothering to muster up a chuckle at your mouth that was slightly parted in shock. rather, i trained my eyes away from dangerous territory and avoided that area. instead, i offered a small smile, seeing if you’d just managed to connect the pieces for once in your life.
“who?” your voice was soft and curious, utterly oblivious.
i sighed and opened my mouth to call you absentminded and ignorant, but closed it and instead dug into the inside pockets of my blazer.
NORMAL POV
he pulled out the same small glass vial from the potions class so many months ago, uncorking it easily and wafting it under his nose. he closed his eyes and inhaled, then opened them and asked, “you know what i smell?”
i furrowed my eyebrows, letting him reply with, “something citrusy - lemon, maybe. expensive perfume. vanilla, the natural kind and not the sickly sweet kind. the smallest hint of floral scents, if you really try hard enough. this,” he shook the bottle, “smells just like a certain friend i have.”
i stayed quiet, not dare confirming that i knew who those aromas belonged to.
he held it out just under my nose, inviting me with a nod to smell it. i obliged and wondered aloud, “mint. cologne. something fruity - definitely apples. subtle gel. rain. what is this, theo?”
he offered another weak smile and corked it shut, carelessly tossing it over the side and off the tower. “that was amortentia.”
my heart felt like it dropped to the pit of my stomach.
i found myself arguing with the reality of the situation. perhaps this was just some temporary infatuation that he was about to admit to, something we could laugh about in a couple days time?
that’s when he started speaking, clearly on a roll with his confession and not bothering to hide anything anymore. “i thought i was special as a kid, wondering why i never remembered seeing anything as monochrome. my memory isn’t the best, actually, so i don’t really remember before we became friends anyway. my mother said i must’ve just been some sort of exception, but i didn’t realise until a couple of short years ago that...i’d already met my soulmate by the age of six.”
he chuckled and stared into my eyes, “i left that garden party with everything in full colour, only to find out that you still saw in black and white. i ruled you out straight away, because my naive brain couldn’t comprehend that there was even a possibility of one’s soulmate not even being...being the right one. actually no, you are the right one. i’m sure of it. it’s you that’s the problem, Y/N. why, fucking why do you not see fully yet? we’ve made physical contact so many times, and yet you have the…you think you have the right to still see in black and white?”
my chest stung with every word he spoke, dreading to speak whatever words i could even conjure up with for a reply. i felt pure heartbreak at his words, wanting nothing more than to take his sorrow and heal it. soothe it. i wanted to love him back, oh god why couldn’t it had just been theo.
another sting came, but of anger this time. platinum hair, smirks, the scent of apples and cologne. my hatred pushed deeper, frustration taking over in the form of tears pooling in my eyes. there must’ve been a glitch somewhere amongst the stars. it was the only explanation.
the fates could not be so cruel.
i couldn’t form words, especially as theo took a hand and cupped my cheek. he let a few moments pass, then he asked without an ounce of hope, “see any colours yet?”
a few short moments passed until i replied, my words barely a whisper against the hiss of wind and rain. I wished they would carry the confession away, so far that we could pretend it never existed. “i do, actually. only, it happened a few months ago.”
he snapped his hands away as if my skin was suddenly aflame. i whispered, looking down because i couldn’t bare to face him, “that quidditch practise. with draco.”
i heard only silence, and then an accepting exhale. the only sight i saw were his shoes stepping closer, pressing a light kiss to the top of my head, before he parted, down the stairs and out the tower.
i bit my lip, ignoring the blurred eyes, and turned back to the open landscape, welcoming the storm that grew closer.
“harsh, Y/L/N.”
i whirled around, recognising that voice anywhere. malfoy stood with his hands in his pockets, a blank expression on his face again. he sauntered over and replaced the spot where theo stood minutes before.
“go away.” i said.
he scoffed, leaning against the railings on his elbows and facing me. “you just temporarily lost your bestfriend, don’t push your soulmate away too.” his voice held layers of halfhearted seriousness, but also some sarcasm.
at the word soulmate, i glared harshly and stepped closer in an attempt to intimidate him. to be honest, i couldn’t care less if he was intimidated or not - as long as i was close enough for him to see the hatred behind my eyes, i was content.
“i haven’t lost him at all, and fuck your ‘temporarily’ bullshit too. if you’ve come here to annoy me, you couldn’t have had worse timing. please, just go away.” my voice almost cracked at the last sentence, a build up of so many emotions in my chest and throat.
he remained silent, something that i was almost grateful for.
at that moment, i hated the universe even more than the boy who stood next to me. i hated it, because even now i could feel my soul yearning for him. i could sense the connection deep inside me somewhere, wanting to be comforted and held by the person to my side. i’d never felt this demand within my body for anyone else, and i knew i wouldn’t be possible to - the evidence was in the society around me.
“i hate you.” i uttered, because it’s all i could bring myself to say.
he only replied, “i know.”
DRACO’S POV
your eyes were thick with moisture. in a different circumstance, i would’ve gladly taunted you relentlessly for crying, but i understood your frustration well.
i hated you too.
i hated when you stood up to my comments, when you boasted about your quidditch triumphs, when you matched my arrogance, when you fucking laughed.
i hated our souls being two halves of the same whole, because i could feel the desperate pull inside me everytime you were within visible proximity.
actually, i felt a need to be with you even when you weren’t nearby. the want to tease you, to provoke your scowls and glares and snide replies. i despised you for leaving me all those months ago, embarrassed and almost hopeful in the closet, alone. i despised you for showing up tonight, looking undeniably beautiful as usual. i couldn’t ever see you as less than, because the very stars forced me to see you like this.
perfect.
Y/N Y/L/N, i fucking hate you.
that’s why i’m currently grabbing you by the shoulders, pulling you into me and wrapping my hands around your body, tangling my hands into your dampened hair. that’s why when i felt you sharply inhale in surprise, then melt into my body with a reluctant relief, i felt the hard, mean exterior that was ‘draco malfoy’ dissolve slightly, possible to be abraded only by you.
D.M. is an avid fan of billiards. As a highly skilled player, he has high expectations for his partners. But whether you're experienced or not, he's fond of inviting you to an evening of pool every once in a while. Privileges of being his lover <3
He loosens up a lot during his games with you. It's less about competition and more about enjoying his time with you. He gets a little carried away adding "extra rules" to each round, making penalties much more personal & intimate (take this as you will).
Almost always, these nights end with your cues discarded on the floor & one of you pinned over the table 🙈 No losers here.
If you've never played pool before, he'd definitely be eager to teach you ... he does that thing where he stands flush behind you, arm parallel to yours as he guides your aim.
He knows how to turn anyone into putty in his hands. As someone who's been dancing with high society all his life, he's perfected his disarming smile & pretty words. It takes little effort to ease people into giving him information.
But his mind tends to wander around you, leading him to open up about himself more often than he would like. You're just a comfortable presence for him.
Still, he's too stubborn to fully lay his heart out for you. He has a habit of slipping out little comments about his love for you, only to backtrack & pretend he was just teasing you 🙄 At first he might've been slick about it, but you've gotten good at recognizing when he tries to cover up his heart.
If you call him out on it, he'll say something like "When have I ever done anything to suggest I might not consider you mine?" <- still teasing
On the other hand, he gets jealous very easily, even when the cause isn't obvious. He'll refuse to talk about it and just bitterly retreat to his room. According to his butler, he's always been prone to these little tantrums.
Despite the gentlemanly front he wears in public, he really doesn't care about honor. He's more selfish with you, waiting for you to come comfort him.
🪡 unrequited disturbance - joseph desaulnier x reader - part 1? (rushed)
Summary - You are a renowned seamstress working at your own boutique, your life takes a sudden turn when multiple cases of disappearances appear in your area and it just so happened you met the “perpetrator”?
——————————————————————————————————
Cut, cut, cut… The soft sounds of shears trimming fabric echo throughout the room, followed by the sounds of chalk drawn against fabric; measuring taped draped to the floor and tiny pins scattered across the table. You look up from the fabric, setting down the shears in your hand. Drawn in by the sound of a knock, you walk out the room to only be embraced by the warmth of the suns rays. It was a late awakening to the morning that was greeted by a sense of curiosity. Walking towards the front of the shop, you open the door and a newspaper lies at the front-step. You pick it up and read the tittle of “The Missing Disappearance Case”.
“How curious…” You mutter under your breath, as you walk back into the shop you became intrigued at the contents of the newspaper. Slowly flipping the pages, you read word by word of the missing disappearance case and reach the bottom where it mentions “the perpetrator has yet to be caught.”; those words instantly cause your face to contort in utter disgust and are quickly agitated, when you realize the case was in your area. “Hopefully they’re caught soon, just the thought of knowing that there’s always a slight chance I’ll stumble across the perpetrator gives me ughhh..” unable to finish your sentence, you resume back to your commission.
Two hours had gone by since the time you read the newspaper and a scheduled appointment was coming up. By the afternoon the commission was meticulously sewn to perfection, just in time for the client to stand idly at the front door.
There at the front-steps stood a dashingly handsome nobleman, one of great elegance and dignity, who was accompanied by two other gentlemen of the same stature. “Greetings, Earl Mèlodis! Please follow me towards the designated guest quarters.” You motion a gesture towards the shop, before guiding the noble into the measuring room. The Earl tailing behind you flashes a smile and earnestly follows you in: admiring the decor and outfits displayed inside.
“Please do hand me your coat and make your way over here on the elevated platform!” The Earl hands you his black coat. Smiling you walk towards the coat rack to only then notice the weird stench radiating off the coat. Dumbfounded you’re taken by surprise at such matters, but paid no mind to the business of the Earl. “Whatever his business is, is not my business…” you sigh as you return back to the Earl. Desire Mèlodis, the Earl, awaits your return before asking “to resume the measuring” as you grab the measuring tape you cannot help, but notice the specs of browny-red stains on the Earls white vest. Your face contorts and the Earl gives you a polite smile “Is there a problem, Miss Seamstress?” tilting his head ever so slightly. “No.. There’s no problem, Earl. None.. Not at all.” You say firmly, however the thoughts of the “Missing Disappearance Case” flash in your mind: Is it possible he’s the perpetrator? Mumbling you stumble on your own heels.
Gracefully the Earl catches you with one swift motion “You seem to be lost in your own mind, Miss Seamstress.” he stares with ill intent, hoping you’ll catch on to his motives. His servants rush over towards the Earl in an angsty manner, one whose name was Roger politely guides you aside to ask if you’re alright. Giving him a quick nod, before sharing a glance with an ever so cunning Earl. Not wanting to spend any more time with the Earl, you wrap up the appointment and give the servants a notice for when the commission will be ready.
Standing at the front-steps the Earl awaits your farewell, he walks closer and leans in to whisper “What keen eyes you have, Miss Seamstress. It would be a shame if any thing were to happened to you, if word got out about this little incident.” He grips your shoulder, before giving it a tight squeeze. As he steps onto his carriage, he gives you his usual smile while motioning to Roger to hand you an envelope. “I wonder what’s this for…”

Writing this felt like it took four years off my life ;’(
If it feels rushed It is. I would’ve loved to develop their encounter in a better manner, however semester finals are soon and I needed something to get me off the stress: so I wrote this silly short. Hopefully in the future I can revisit this fanfic, when I improve on my writing!
hello! i’m nil 19 dark blonde hair with green eyes, 5’7 entp 8w7 explains it all probably but i am a taurus sun virgo rising, a slytherin and gryffindor mix i have no idea how either lmao. i am a sarcastic person with a great taste of fashion. i love watching marvel, classical rock especially led zeppelin oh and i’m bisexual. i love reading and writing i am a gifted burnout child syndrome who is a perfectionist as well lol. i love motorcycles as well. i hope u have fun while writing!!
This was quite hard, Although i'd say Draco Malfoy.
Now hear me out! We all know Draco has 'only child syndrome' and had an abusive parent(s). He would feed to your personality and also give you a run for your money. Draco would definitely know about the sarcasm and great fashion sense, dude probably has all the new items once they're out. One thing he would do is buy you those new clothing items you want, he'd probably give you them and rudely state something along the lines of, "I cant be caught with someone who doesn't look their best." He definitely wouldn't mean it and you know that. He would say that so you don't see his face become a tomato.

I. YOU WILL BE DEALT WITH.
“Really handsome, blond, tall and a son of a bitch.” These are the words you would use to describe Draco Malfoy if somebody ever asked you. Of course, you are not worried of ever saying the first four words of that sentence to anyone because, well, nobody would ever ask you.
It’s not that your opinion of the blond boy doesn’t matter, don’t get me wrong, but it’s just that your judgement of Malfoy is well known all across Hogwarts : you hate Draco, with a passion. Matter fact, if you had a gun with two bullets and you were in a room with Voldemort, Umbridge , and Draco, you would shoot draco, twice.
You must be curious on why you both hate each other so much ; Well for starters, it all started on the first ever day of Hogwarts when⎯
“Draco fucking Malfoy.”you yelled at the top of your lungs as soon as you felt a translucent-gooey-textured liquid being poured on the top of your head, slowly making its way on your shoulders. For the matter that drenched your upper body was unknown, you closed your eyes instantly, preventing whatever-that-was from infecting your eyes.
(I guess we’ll tell that story another day)
You quickly wiped your eyes with your fingers, wanting to see the culprit so you could give them a piece of your mind. But, of course, you knew damn well who would dare to pull this type of pranks at eight am.
There he was, right in front of you, Draco Malfoy, with his stupid platinum blond hair, laughing stupidly with his stupider friends. Oh, how his laugh was aggravating to your ears.
“What the fuck did you just pour on me Malfoy?”You gritted your teeth, angry as ever. Who in their right state of mind would be this bored to pull a prank this early in the morning?
A smirk grazed his lips as he looked down on you. “What I just poured on you is troll snot.” His response earned a roar of laughter from not only his little clique, but the entire hallway which was, conveniently for Draco, busy at this time of the day. “And you think it's bloody funny you fucking tosser?” You said, disgusted as you helplessly tried to clean your hands on your skirt.
“Geez, Gorgon.” He chuckled as if you said the silliest thing ever. “Who shat in your cereals?” This statement made Crabbe and Goyle slap their knees and grab their stomach as it hurt with laughter. “Stop laughing! What's so funny you idiots?” You glared at them which made them stop at once.
You took a step towards the blond boy while looking at him straight into his eyes. “You're satisfied of yourself right now, aren't you Malfoy?” He took a step back, not sure of what's going to be your next move. “Are you du—” You were interrupted by a stern voice that silenced the entire hallway in a matter of seconds.
“What in Merlin's name is going on over here?” You didn't even need to turn around to see whose voice it is as you know it too damn well. Plus, the look on Malfoy only confirmed your suspicion. “Fuck, it's Snape.” He muttered shakily under his breath. “You are little coward, aren't you Malfoy?” You giggled bitterly finding his reaction way too funny. “Everybody go to class.” The professor continued. “NOW.”He demanded making every student watching the scene scurry to their first class of the day.
“Y/N Gorgon. Draco Malfoy.” Snape said in a severe voice. “What did you two scheme this time?” You turned around to look at the professor's face filled of exasperation. Well, can you blame him? There's not a single person in the world that wouldn't be tired of giving the same two students detention almost every day for the past six years. Yes, every day for the past SIX years.
Snape's presence didn't even bother you at this point, the man has seen you in all the possible situations and emotional states since the day you stepped foot into Hogwarts. So, unbothered, you continued talking to Draco as if Snape wasn't even in the room. “You will not get away with this Malfoy”you said through gritted teeth. “Trust, you will be dealt with.” You poked your index finger at his chest. “You didn't win yet, you fucking twat." The last statement earned you a smack in the back of your head from Snape.
“10 points out for Slytherin for your foolishness.” he said, disappointed. “I think you two already know the drill by now.” He sighed looking at the two of you in front of him. “Potions classroom. Cauldrons.” He said lifelessly, as usual.
“I think you are mistaken professor, we cleaned the cauldrons yesterday.” Draco said hurriedly. You quickly nudged Draco with your elbow. “Shut up Malfoy.” you mouthed.
“Would you rather help Filch on his cleaning duties?” Snape said already knowing your reaction. “No, sir.” You said quickly.
“Good.”He said before turning his back and leaving to Merlin knows where, but, then, he stopped his motions before turning back towards you and Draco. “Oh and Y/N.” You gulped. “Clean yourself before going to detention.” He brought his hand to his nose, waving it up and down as if to eliminate a bad odour. “The stench of troll snot isn't really pleasant for my nose. I think I speak for all of us” He turned back and disappeared quickly from the hallways which were empty by now, leaving only you and Draco who was currently laughing uncontrollably.
Of course, you didn't hesitate to kick him where the sun doesn't shine to make him shut up. And it did work.

"And he got me fucked up if he thinks that he'll get away with this easily." You stormed into your room, muttering like a mad woman. "He really thinks" you sat yourself on your desk, slamming a piece of paper on it. "that I'm going to let this slide, huh?" you picked up your quill and started writing on the paper. "Malfoy, you don't know what's coming for your right now." you chuckled maniacally.
"What the fuck Y/N?" Athena, your roommate, said as she got out of your shared bathroom, looking like she just got out of the shower. "Aren't you supposed to be in class right now?" she questioned while looking at you curiously and leaning her body on the door frame of the bathroom. "By the way⎯ What in Merlin's beard is this horrid smell?" she scrunched her nose "And it's definitely not me cause I just hopped out of the shower." You glared at her. "Well, what about you?" you said, "aren't you supposed to be in transfiguration right now?" you looked back at your paper. "If you are wondering about the smell," you stopped writing your sentence and met her eyes, "Draco Malfoy poured troll snot on me this morning." you explained.
A look of horror displayed on Athena's face "Troll snot?" you nodded. "Yes troll snot." for a moment she looked like she was suppressing a laugh, but then she couldn't control it anymore and had a fit of laughter. "What are you laughing for you git?" You were utterly offended, why would your dearest friend laugh of your misery?
"I'm sorry love, it's just that it's kind of a good come back for your last prank." she put her hand in front of her mouth as an attempt to hide her smile. "I didn't think that he could top you putting green hair dye in his shampoo." she continued. "Sure." you said smiling as Athena reminded you of your last accomplishment. "So I suppose that you are planning your next prank, aren't you?" she pointed at the piece of paper you were writing. "You know, I think you guys should just kiss at this point." you pretended to gag at her last statement. "Don’t ever say that again Athena. It’s never going to happen." she leaned back from her previous position and started to walk towards you.
"And, yeah, I am." a huge smirk displayed on your face. "And what is it?" she said as she stood next to you. "Nothing." you said simply. "Nothing?" Athena confusedly said as she picked up your piece of paper. "Yeah, I'm just gonna take a step back and watch things unfold." You said while leaning back in your chair, your arms behind your head.
You watched Athena's reaction at your next prank with amusement. "Y/N! You are insane." she exclaimed with her eyes as wide as saucers. "I truly don't know how to feel about this one, it's really risky." she waved the paper in front of your face. "Don't worry about it, it's all fun." you snatched the paper out of her hand. "Besides, that's the adequate payback for what he did today." you smiled mischievously while reading at the words written in the piece of parchment."
Dear Draco,
You filled up my heart for the past years, and I can not thank you enough for bringing me so much joy.
You see, I'm always looking at you secretly and it's creepy, I know, but I can't stop my eyes for prying for every trace of you. You are the highlight of my every day, hour and second.
I feel butterflies in my stomach every time our eyes meet by accident, I feel happy when you laugh but sadness when I see a frown on your face. Oh, how I'm infatuated by you.
But see, pretty boy, a wave of sadness can't help but to wash all over me when I wonder if you even know my existence.
Darling, do you even know my name? do you know I exist?
yours truly,
your secret admirer.
"This is perfect." you folded the letter and put it in a pink envelope. "I don't know about this Y/N." Athena sounded genuinely worried. "It's all he deserves for ruining my day by pouring troll snot on me." you said nonchalantly.
"Yeah, speaking of troll snot." Athena scrunched her nose in disgust. "you should really take a shower."
