yesterday during lunch, I yelled out to my friend “HEY SEXY” and out of a full class of 30 students, she was the only person to turn around , and it inspired a drawing out of me

Shared Nightmares
I wanted to draw out a scene from my DND game involving nightmares and death. Fun :)
As a guy that runs a dnd campaign in a modern/slightly futuristic setting, I have to depend on mystery a lot to carry my plot instead of things like straight out combat or dungeon delving (not to say I don’t do exactly those things reflavored just that they don’t come up as often).
And what that usually means is I get to be amused as my players look around at my clues and throw ideas back and forth for hours of a session and while I’m sitting there quietly I often think about that dnd meme of your players not being able to solve puzzles designed for kindergartners. And what I've found when you make puzzle solving a more regular part of your game is that its more like:
Merciful God people just look at the clue i keep mentioning over and over! Of course its potentially dangerous! That's your whole job!
Am I describing this right? I’ve never had to explain [insert party hyperfixation here] in this much detail. (Wikipedia in another tab)
Wait you’re going to do WHAT with a corpse?
Wow I can’t believe they aren’t getting this. I put it right in front of them, this is going to be such a reveal in like 10 sessions.
Hold up what the fuck, they guessed it like 95% correctly. That was sudden but let’s let them know—oop they’re still talking. Wait, wait, did one of them just guess the whole ass plot of the campaign and the major villain’s plan??? Keep an even face! Oh thank god, they just disregarded it. They’re going to forget in like two weeks
What do you mean you don’t remember that plot clue from 4 months ago?
Oh shit they remembered that plot clue from session 1 that I forgot to make into a story thread
How can I say make an Investigation/Perception/Arcana check for the 15th time without boring myself?
YAY I CAN POST THESE NOW WOOHOO
!BVZ10 SPOILERS BRO!
GB thank you so much for adding dmdc content I owe you my life and I am forever in your debt
