I don't know if you've ever gotten this question before, but, what would Crimson be like if they hadn't been tossed aside and got their hearts cut out? Like, how would that kind of play out for everyone- especially Leadman and Evil Mother?
Nope, I’ve never gotten this question before. (Pretty sure anyway.) But it is absolutely something I’ve thought about at lengths before. The outcome of the world would have changed so very drastically, here are some large highlights
#1) If Leadman had decided to raise his child and not remove the eyes, he and EM would have stayed a couple and Crimson would have been raised under their care.
Crim would be in their human body, with their 3 mandragora hearts (and the one human heart ofc.) The parents would have both been very protective of their child, except both parents would be a little at odds with how to raise them. Leadman would try to influence the human aspect while EM would encourage the mandragora worm side. EM likely would also tell her child every secret she knows from her long history that she feels even Leadman would not be able to handle.So while overflowing with attention, Crimson might struggle with a bit of stress to understand just how much influence they could bring to the world because of their powers, and what to do with that sort of responsibility. They might feel a bit distant from themselves and think more of their “duty" to the world, but –would always have a point of context and understanding on where they came from, which the canon crimson does not have. And saddest of all probably, is this Crimson would know and have no doubt in their mind they were very, very loved by their parents. It is also unlikely Crimson would have been eaten by a Hydragora worm, so they would be with their original body. Their name also wouldnt be crimson either, but I am.. just using it because it is easier to explain LOL
#2)The Hekaton species (and Canary) would not ever exist.Since the Hekatons/Canarys conception was originally Evil Mothers idea, made from spite and anger from what happened to her baby, she would have not gone to Tricend to assist creating them. This changes the outcome drastically over the fate of the world. Leadman, Em and Crimson would have likely all worked together to, i suppose, conquer Dmtia and rule over it. While their goals would be to maintain peace and to restore a proper balance in the polluted, damaged ecosystem of the planet, it is likely they would still face a tremendous amount of opposition from those would not want to hand the world over to the Freaky Worm Family. However, their strength would be very difficult to deal with, especially if they worked together, so its safe to say they would at least be somewhat successful in claiming a large portion of the planet under their rule and they would attempt to build a utopia there, to take in anyone who wished to ‘escape death and war.” ( But hey as we ALL know Utopias ttly ALWAYS work out……. ) This place would also probably be located in the oceans. One of Em’s goals has always been to reclaim the oceans as her territory and clean/restore them from the damage that they have endured. Do not even think about fucking with the ocean or EM will destroy you.
#3) The Dmtian Moon would be fine!There it is!!! They also would have never migrated from Dmtia to the 7 Moons whcih orbit the gas planet Kosmic, another planet in the settings solar system. (And is the centerpiece location for the majority of events in the canon comic)
#4) A mandragora weed infestation would threaten the population of Hydragora Worms, and likely attempt to drive them into extinction. It also would potentially be a bit worrying for everyone else too, id imagine. But with all the drama going on it might be.. overlooked. Dun Dun dunn.
#5) Randall Aiguille/Rembrandt/The Crosshatch unit… and Aeschylus. would work to form a resistance and attempt to find a way to kill the Leadman family. Their team would likely be one of the most dangerous for Leadman to deal with. (the Dmtian government being the most difficult and largest one.) It is likely there would be casualties as they attempt to fight the Super Powered Family. Exciting!Its likely Tricend would be .. taken over, disbanded, regrouped with the Dmtian govt, or otherwise fall apart. but Leadman’s team would likely assume control over the ship and use it as one of their (most important )tools for their side.
Hmm.. there’s more I could add into the influence of power between the human population, but a lot of it would tap into territory i havent really covered in the story??? so it would be kind of confusing to explain. There is more i could add though! But…. i think that gives a basic idea just how different the conflicts would have been if Crimson was not abandoned!!! So much would have changed. Would it have been easier? or worse? i think its just generally… a different mess, but a little less spread out of a mess. It makes me kind of sad i did not get to see the cooperation btwn Em and Leadman raising their kid though. I think it would have been nice to draw! and see the three of them care about eachother. and kick ass with all their buff bodies. oh god, would they have worn……. matching family outfits?? i…i think i need to lie down….
