Hallelujah I’m out of the 235′s!!! Although I completely expect to see 235 again, probably tomorrow, it is SO exciting to see it today of all days - Rex Manning Day! jk jk, Weigh-In-Wednesday!!
As you should all know, I saw 235 for over two weeks straight while eating under calorie and under/at 20g carbs, then on Wednesday and Thursday I decided to lightly splurge on carbs for then got right back at it on Friday and TODAY there’s finally movement downward.
What changed?? I decided to lower my daily calorie limit *sob*. Last night I moved my MFP calorie goal from 1570 down to 1300. You’ll notice in my food diary yesterday I barely ate over this limit and I saw a pound lost! Gratifying! Here’s hoping I don’t have to keep eating less and less with every plateau but we’ll see. Maybe I’ll get to eat carbs with a plateau?! I like that plan much much better.
Last night for dinner was a trusty yet tasty wrap! I knew it would satisfy both my macro goals as well as my need to eat bread-like items. I swear, I’d eat wraps for dinner every night if I could get away with it. If you haven’t had them yet I HIGHLY recommend Mission Low Carb Whole Wheat Tortillas. 6g carbs per tortilla but it’s totally worth it.
Time for my next Keto Krate item review! #2: DNX Free Range Chicken bar
I was definitely excited to eat this piece of meat (sexual pun intended). It looked intriguing and I love things that come in bars. When I opened the package there was a strong flavorful smell of seasoned chicken, which makes sense given that’s exactly what I was eating.
I enjoyed the bar more after I was done having a bite than when I was actually in the process of chewing it. It tasted kind of tart/sour? It’s strange to eat something with so little fat but I did like it overall. I wouldn’t go out and order it directly but I did like having it in my lunch today and I definitely wouldn’t turn it down if someone handed it to me. It was like soft chicken jerky. I’d love to try all the other flavors now although scanning their nutrition facts they’re not all keto friendly.
Excited to see what tomorrow’s snack brings!
ALSO - I’ve barely touched my Keto Chow today. I’m having one of those full-feeling keto days which is always SO bizarre to experience. Reminder to self to take advantage of this feeling and eat intuitively not just because things are accessible and taste good!
