When Martyn first guests on hermitcraft and finds out Ren and doc are married, he jokingly says he has to "grade" doc on how good he is of a husband for His Ren.
So they spend some time together.
The next morning Martyn's walking around with a lab coat a couple sizes too big. No one mentions it other than Ren commenting on how good it looks on him
Ren is now left in the awkward position of trying to figure out if his boyfriend (or whatever Martyn is to him) and his husband are dating.
He guesses he'll have to leave them both together more often until he has enough evidence.
I was hoping my first song would be something obscure so I seem like a cool indie girl with niche music tastes. Instead we have the banger I put on when I'm getting ready to go clubbing.
This one got away from me guys don't expect the others to be this long (<- lying)
Martyn was standing in the doorway, spatula in hand, with an apron tied around his waist. His smile widened when their eyes met; and suddenly, Doc was plunged into memory.
Full ficlet under the cut! (597 words)
Crazy Shit I Did Tonight
Doc hadn’t a hangover this bad in… wow.
The sunlight streaming through the blinds stung his eyes like broken glass. Pain pounded through his skull, tight around his temples and the base of his horns. And I forgot to remove my arm, he realised, finding the juncture where his robotic limb joined to his shoulder and wincing. The skin smarted with pain when he pressed it.
More troubling, still, was the fact that he had no idea where he was.
He was in a bed that wasn’t his own, wrapped up in a checkered green quilt. Beside him was a desk, cluttered with papers and miscellaneous pieces of merch. A model airship; a corgi plushie; a cowboy hat amidst scraps of papers. The collection proliferated across the shelves, tubes of D&D dice leaning against piles of books. A map from a fantasy series stretched across one wall.
Wait a minute. A framed photograph at the end of the shelf caught Doc’s attention. In it, a blonde man brandished a selfie camera while his friend, a dog hybrid, cocked his sunglasses. Those sunnies… Doc leaned closer, and his stomach dropped. He could recognise his best friend anywhere.
That’s Ren.
Which meant this had to be…
“Hello?” Martyn’s voice called from behind the door.
Doc tried and failed to gather his thoughts. Martyn? As in, college Martyn? Of course Ren had mentioned him; they’d played D&D as students, and periodically exchanged photos when work pulled them to different cities. Ren had mentioned Martyn would be coming to his party, but Doc hadn’t paid it any mind. Ren was always pulling friends out of places Doc hadn’t expected.
“Doc? You awake?”
“Awake,” he sputtered quickly.
The doorknob twisted, and light from the corridor slammed into Doc’s face like concrete. When his vision cleared, he found himself looking up at a suddenly-familiar face. Martyn was standing in the doorway, spatula in hand, with an apron tied around his waist. His smile widened when their eyes met; and suddenly, Doc was plunged into memory.
Whirling blue-violet dancefloor lights. 2000’s music that blared into his bones. Martyn was one of Ren’s guests, a miscellaneous body in the crowd, until he’d turned around and met Doc’s gaze with eyes the colour of lightning. Martyn was… mesmerising, the way he drifted through the crowd, peppering conversations with witty comments that always earned laughs. Doc had hovered for a ridiculous amount of time before Martyn’s attention had turned to him. And they’d… clicked, laughing about Ren’s constant antics and that person’s outfit over there and which songs were good. Words had turned into shots, had turned into racing into the dancefloor, had turned into their lips brushing together in the neon light.
That’s right. The memory taunted him through the haze of smoke machines and shots of something much too sugary. We kissed.
… And now I’m waking up in his bed.
Doc realised he was staring. He tore his gaze away from Martyn’s, finding his own hands. “Did we…?”
“What? No,” Martyn laughed, sounding a little embarrassed. “We were both very drunk. I spent the night on the couch.” His expression sobered slightly, and he fiddled with the edge of his apron. “We probably should talk about last night, but we don’t have to right this second.” A smile flashed across his face, cheerful and easygoing. “I was thinking of making pancakes. Do you want some?”
There was something about Martyn’s smile; a kind of charisma that fended off any awkwardness the situation might present.
Doc let himself smile back. “Pancakes sound good.”
Heyo, I'm Aether, 17 but nearly 18, and im looking to rp with anyone 15+. I am a Martyn muse but i can handle playing many other characters
I rp for:
Life Series
POWsmps (primarily Rats, Rats In Paris, Vampires, Cowboys, and i suppose now Bannerfall)
Hermitcraft if Martyn can get thrown into that setting (tho mainly i'd just add HC characters)
Ships I enjoy (specifically Martyn ones, if you wanna add other ships we can discuss in dms):
Treebark (You as Ren
Mythicalwood (You as Sausage)
Mythicaltreebark (if you have another friend who would be down to do a 3-person rp, either of you as Ren or Sausage)
Doctyn (You as Doc)
Scottyn (You as Scott)
Zombiewood (You as Cleo)
Plots that I enjoy (not limited to the ones listed, again we can talk more in dms):
Superhero/Villain aus (general superpowers also work)
Apocalypse aus
Continuing/Rewriting the endings of certain POWsmps (any of the ones listed above)
Warrior Cats aus
Space aus
BOUNDARIES:
If we're on discord, i would like to be pinged after each response just to make sure I see it
Please don't spam ping me because I my be at school or doing a prior commitment
I'm only human but I expect you to be as well. Don't go using AI to write the rp responses, that fucking sucks
I don't write NSFW with other people at the moment because I'm a minor still, but if you're an adult and we keep rping until i turn 18 then i may consider
NONE OF THE THINGS WE DO IN RP WILL EVER CONNECT TO A REAL LIFE RELATIONSHIP. I am currently in a closed relationship and am not INTERESTED in turning a roleplay into a real-life romance
I like to add heavier topics to the things i write. If there is something that triggers you, you NEED to tell me as one of the first things we talk about in dms.
While I will be fine with adding ocs/background npcs, i do not want them to be the focus of this rp
I WILL NOT TOUCH HOSPITAL SETTINGS WITH A TEN FOOT POLE.
I primarily rp on Discord (usually using tupper in a small server) but I would be fine with rping on Tumblr (be it in dms or through blog interactions) or by using some kind of document-sharing website (Google Docs or Ellipsus). I will likely be able to respond more frequently through the latter option, but I have also not done much with it.
For Discord Roleplays, friend aetheriseepy
For Tumblr Roleplays, dm @pragmatic-but-eepy
For Doc-Sharing, feel free to send a message on either platform.
If for some reason you have issues with any friending or dming, please leave a message on this post (be it in comments or in reblogs) and I will reach out to you.
Reach out to OP on any platforms or leave messages on this post if you're interested!
doctyn feels like size difference and power fantasy to me. doc just physically overpowering martyn and kinda tossing him around, playing rough with him, and martyn is into it.
Martyn and Doc… don't have the best relationship. They've met a handful of times and one of those was Martyn saying his kid was better than Doc's, which didn't go over well and started a dad feud.
But, they're willing to put their differences aside for Ren, their boyfriend.
If along the way the frustration went from "I hate that guy" to "I want to kiss that guy but I can't", that's another story. Ren is just happy they get along.
It doesn't help that their kids also get along well. They can't hate each other in front of the kids, that sets a bad example! Nor can they hate each other in front of the Ren, that makes him sad.
So why does Martyn have to be so witty? And why is Doc so damned clever. How can they be jealous of each other when they're dating the same guy?
Ren still isn't aware Doc and Martyn aren't dating. He thought that's why they'd suddenly started gazing longingly across the room!
Docmartyn for the themw with Doc as some kind of demon and Martyn as the guy trying to catch him?
Martyn is sick of his job.
It was cool as a teenager! Being destined to save the world and everything, fighting evil, etcetera etcetera. But now he's thirties, he needs to pay rent and he cannot miss another shift just because a demon decided it would be fun to desynchronize the city's traffic lights.
So, when he gets a call about a demon trying to harness all of the country's energy for a strange device, he's tired. He's just tired, man. So if the demon could just like, stop, that would be nice. Maybe consider solar panels, they're getting more affordable. And if this device isn't location specific he can go stick it in a desert. It'll probably get more power then, it's not being shared with everybody making their morning cuppa.
He doesn't expect the demon (who he calls Doc, because Doctor is a ridiculous name like doctor what) to listen. Nor to come back the next week and consult Martyn for further advice.
This is really not Martyn's problem, but it's more interesting than his usual demon hunting responsibilities so... Who cares. Take his number, that way Doc's less likely to bother him during work. Martyn's phone bill is due soon.
