I just cleaned 40% of the bathroom. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I've never managed to start until now because I am genuinely only capable of starting tasks after midnight
#anntics#I was watching the hbomberguy trans rights donkey kong 64 speedrun stream and he said something about looking up time management tips#so I did but I knew that time management tips were rarely helpful for me bc of my adhd#so I looked up time management tips for people with adhd and I recieved time management advice that was genuinely helpful#the video I watched said that I should wear a watch and have more clocks and they were right#and they said that because people with adhd experience time blindness it can be difficult to estimate how long a task will take#so they recommended that I time myself doing tasks like laundry and washing dishes and taking a shower#so I would know how long I was taking and then keep a time log so I would have something to refer back to if needed#I can't imagine the kind of power that comes from knowing how long it takes for me to eat lunch or wash my hair#oh they also suggested getting a waterproof clock for the shower which is such a great idea#anyway I'm just really excited about the idea of time management#although I watched that video like a week ago and I still haven't started any of it#did you know that a lot of people with adhd get the same amount of satisfaction from imagining doing something that they do from actually#doing it?#it's part of the reason it can be hard to start tasks that you're actually excited about. your brain feels like you've already done it#at least I think one of the videos said that#like I said it's been a week#anyway I cleaned my bathroom and I was going to spend 1 hour on it but I ended up spending 2.5 hours on it#but that's okay because now it's 1.5 hours cleaner
