Before and after on the Jennifer situation!
Uneeda doll I was told was a Dollikin but she’s even bigger than Barbie! She’s in great shape for her age and I’ll make a post showing off her joints with a size comparison soon.
This gal! With her bodacious tatas! Finally has her hair curled into a style fit for a 70’s lady, although I believe these dolls were sold into the 80’s. I didn’t even boil wash it, I just curled it on drinking straws secured with Bobby pins and left it for a month or so. Oh! And I straightened it with my variable temperature flat iron (a trick from the doll hair empress @dollsonmain ). The hair is much silkier and softer—a great improvement over how it was when I got her.
She’s on a 1/6 EB Beauty Volks type F body, *I believe.* Please chime in if I’m wrong, I’m sure someone knows exactly which body this is just by the n!ps. 😂 Going to cover those bad boys with masking tape shortly but I had to show off her new ‘do!
Her lips are too dark now that I see her next to her blond cousin clone. I had wanted to do something a little bit different but this looks like too much. Alas.
Her hairstyle is also kind of limited to the shape it's in because of how much a previous owner had hacked off of it.
We try again soon.
The Jennifer Problem as it currently stands, from most to least worked on. Brunette in red orange floral just joined us this week and hasn't had so much as a comb. The two in the center are definitely not wearing clothes made for them, but we're making it work.
My biggest desire for these would be tiltability at the neck.
I'm also in need of a body of similar size for another project, so if you know any, yell in my direction!
This girl has gone through a lot in last few months!
She's about to get some new lip paint at the very least, but I thought this was a pleasing progression.
The life of a doll collector (this one at least) involves nudie cuties sitting on top of a box fan drying their boil washes. Mary Kate was found a month or so ago, and this Uneeda gal I’ve had for a couple of years. They’re both on Volks bodies from Mandarake (!!!!); Mary Kate for the petite proportions and Uneeda because I thought the booby and long-leggedness would help balance the proportions of her...unique...face. 😂She also just has a big ol’ head that is pink pink pink. Oh, and Mary Kate was my first acetone shrink! I used Dirili’s slow shrink method, and besides accidentally wiping off some of her lipstick, it went great! She’s still bobble-headed but that’s to be expected. I’m so happy these two are coming together!
