The great Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron has passed away at the age of 86. I cannot imagine the ignorance and stupidity that this man faced when he was chasing Babe Ruth’s home run record. It would have got the best of many a man. He handled it with class and dignity.
During 2020, I respectfully joked that the 2020 Memorial team was going to be hard to beat in the Heavenly World Series with the pitching staff that it formed with the loss of legends such as Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson Whitey Ford, Don Larsen and Phil Niekro.
Unfortunately, 22 days into 2021, Tommy Lasorda is starting to fill out his lineup card. He has his 3 hole hitter and a starting pitcher with the death of Don Sutton.

RIP Hammer, one of the best to ever step on a baseball field.

#OTD in @chicagocubs history ▸ Father’s Day, 1977: @ladodgers Reggie Smith starts a bench-clearing brawl with the Cubs after pitcher Rick Reuschel hits Smith on the ankle with a pitch. The end result, Reuschel, Smith, along with Cubs’ catcher George Mitterwald and manager Herman Franks, end up ejected from the Cubs 3-1 loss to Don Sutton at Dodger Stadium.
Congratulations to Clayton Kershaw on surpassing the great Sandy Koufax for 3rd place on the Dodgers All-Time Strikeout list with #2397. Now he’s chasing a pair of Don’s (Sutton (cough can’t stand him) and Drysdale.
Happy Friday!!!! Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1075 for Thursday March 12, 2026.
Sometimes I try to fill the grid based on a theme. For today's grid I was trying to fill all nine boxes with MLB Hall of Famers. Considering that I was going for a Hall of Fame grid, the score of 58 is pretty solid. Alas I was able to only get six Hall of Famers (Don Sutton, Paul Molitor, Catfish Hunter, Whitey Ford, Nolan Ryan and Rogers Hornsby) before I got stuck on the Angels/Athletics box. After that I just filled the remaining three boxes with non-Hall of Famers. I'll try again for the next grid.
Who's looking forward to some Baseball tonight!!! 🇰🇷 vs 🇩🇴 and 🇺🇸 vs 🇨🇦. Let's go!!!! Have a great night.
