Hope everyone had a happy Monday. Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1092 for Sunday March 29, 2026.

Dave Stieb was one of the best pitchers I saw growing up in the 1980s. That guy was snake bitten when it came to lost no-hitters. He lost two no hit bids in consecutive games, both in the 9th innings during the 1988 season. He also lost a perfect game with two outs in the 9th innings in 1989. He would finally gain the elusive no-no against the Cleveland Indians on September 2, 1990. In doing so, Stieb became the first only pitcher in Blue Jays history to throw a no hitter.

Feliz Domingo mi gente. Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1091 for Saturday March 28, 2026.

I tried to do themes for each line. For the first line of MVP, I went with African American and former Negro League players Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron.

For the Only One Team line I went with three New York Yankees legends: Thurman Munson, Don Mattingly and Mickey Mantle.

For the final line of Born Outisde of the U.S. 50 States and DC, I honored the World Baseball Classic Champion Venezuela by picking three Venezuelan legends in Salvador Perez, Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera.

Thats one helluva lineup right there. Hasta Mañana,

Happy Saturday folks!!! Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1090 for Friday March 27, 2026.

The 30+ Save season was difficult to fill. Bobby Thigpen was the easiest of the three boxes to fill. Thigpen set the single season save record with 57 saves in 1990. Currently he is tied for 2nd on the list behind Francisco Rodriguez (62 in 2008) and Edwin Diaz (57 in 2018).

I'm lucky that I picked Zack Britton for the Orioles selection for 30+ saves. Part of me wanted to use Armando Benitez but after I finished the grid, I checked his stats. He did accrue 30 or more saves but not for the O's. His highest for the Orioles was 22 while he broke the 30+ saves threshold for the Mets three times.

I remember a slim Sammy Sosa with long jerri curls and a slim mustache playing for the White Sox before being traded to the Cubs for fellow Dominican slugger George Bell.

Happy Opening Day folks!!!! Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1088 for Wednesday March 25, 2026.

If you've read some of my prior posts on the Immaculate Grid there are team combinations that make it extremely difficult to make a match. Out of the nine boxes, that Cincinnati Reds/Colorado Rockies selection was the hardest. To be honest, I didn't know why I remembered that Freddie Benavides was one of the players chosen by the Rockies in the expansion draft of 1993.

The rest of the Rockies selections were somewhat easier. Though I could have used Matt Holliday in the A's/Cardinals box and maybe chosen someone like AL Rookie of the Year Walt Weiss in the A's/Rockies box. But when I saw the A's/Cardinals box Mark Mulder just seemed like a right pick with Matt Holliday in the A's/Rockies box.

Hey hey hey. Here's my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1081 for Wednesday March 18, 2026.

I don't think I've ever score such a low score as a 10. Let's take a close look at some of the players I picked.

I have 2/3 of the New York Mets Generation K in the first row. In 1995, Generation K was made up of Paul Wilson, Jason Isringhausen and Bill Pulsipher.

The trio of starting pitchers were full of potential and led the hopes of the Mets fans that the team would return to the glory that the 1986 Mets saw. We now that the trio never reached the heights that they were expected to reach. Injuries derailed they ascent. Of the three, isringhausen had the most productive career post-Mets.

Next is Lance Blankenship. I remember him more for his Baseball card than anything he did for the Oakland A's.

When Blankenship debuted in 1988, he was believed to be next in the line for the American League Rookie of the Year Award. To put it in perspective, the A's had three consecutive AL ROY award winners (Mark McGuire, Jose Canseco, Walt Weiss.) So his card was one that I had a bunch of hoping for lightning to strike for a 4th straight year in Oakland. Well, we know he didn't win the 1989 AL ROY. That went to Gregg Olsen of the Baltimore Orioles. Blankenship played for the A's until 1993.

Hello my peeps. Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1080 for Tuesday March 17, 2026.

Considering that I have a number of big names in my grid, my score of 33 is rather low. That doesn't mean that it was easy to get.

Once again, the Washington Nationals line proved to be challenging. Pair that with the Milwaukee Brewers and it was even harder. As I've said before, I prefer to use Nationals players rather than Expos players that are recognized as part of the Nationals history. But it can be hard to find suitable matches. This is why I used Sean Berry in this box. Berry was the starting 3B on the the amazing 1994 Montreal Expos team, whose season was canceled by the Baseball strike. As an aside, if you haven't watched the Netflix documentary "Who Killed The Montreal Expos" you need to. It is a sad but fascinating look at what could have been and what happened to the then Montreal Expos.

What's up everyone!!!! Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1079 for Monday March 16, 2026.

I was doing so well with the grid until I hit the Dodgers/Royals box. I hit a major mental block. The only name that came to mind was Zack Greinke. Based on the score, so did the 54% of those who finished this grid. I still can't think of anyone else who played for the Dodgers and Royals.

I can always count on good old Edwin Jackson when a box needs filling 🤣🤣🤣 Storm Davis and John Wathan are both blasts from the past from my 1980s baseball card collecting days.

Anyhow, here's to the next grid which falls on St. Patrick's Day. I'm not even trying to do an all Irish grid.

Happy Monday my peeps!!! Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1078 for Sunday March 15, 2026.

Man that "Played Right Field min 1 game line is epic." Stan "The Man", Sammy Sosa and "The Splendid Splinter" Ted Williams. That would be one helluva 3-4-5 bloc in the lineup.

The only one team line was hard to fill. Especially for the Rangers and Padres. Immediately Tony Gwynn comes to mind playing his whole career with the Padres. Luckily I remembered that SS/IF Tim Flannery played his whole career with the Padres.

Speaking of San Diego Padres/St. Louis Cardinals and the SS position. It's an easy choice to pick either Garry Templeton or Ozzie Smith for that box. Even though they were in a multi-player trade between the Padres and Cardinals, the trade was in essence a trade for each team's shortstop. While Templeton had a solid career, the trade to St. Louis cemented Ozzie Smith and his Hall of Fame career.
