What's up people. Happy Thursday!!!! Here is my grid 1214 for Wednesday July 30, 2026.

So for the lack of posts the last few days. Finally retired my old Samsung 9+ and it's taken me a few days to set up my new phone. But here I am with a new grid. Let's go on the ride.

I just saw a post where someone was asked who the five worst Mets are and the person included Jason Bay on the list. Most Mets fans I know would agree. But on the Pirates he was $$$. In six seasons he had a .281 BA and an OPS of .841. Respectable numbers. But I would think that some guys just can't play in NYC.

I don't think that I've ever used Joey Cora on a grid. His brother Alex, yes. But not Joey. Welcome to the grid.

Happy Friday my peeps!!! Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1208 for Thursday July 23, 2026.

I just noticed something while looking at my picks. I have Hall of Famers on all four corners. I don't get to use Carlton Fisk very often. I mean come on, who comes to mind aside from Fisk when you have a Red Sox/White Sox box. Or maybe I'm just an 80s kid and go back to the players who baseball cards I had growing up.

Speaking of the 80's, Tim Raines was one of the four main basestealers of the time alongside Vince Coleman, Willie Wilson and behind Rickey Henderson. Raines is 5th on the All-Time Stolen Base list behind Henderson, Lou Brock, Billy Hamilton and Ty Cobb.

The Colorado Rockies line always seems to give me issues. That Red Sox/Rockies box was especially challenging. I got lucky with choosing Bruce Hurst. I vaguely remembered him with the Rockies. Thankfully he was and I didn't ruin the grid. Tulo and Cargo were easier choices for their respective boxes.

Good afternoon!!! Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid 1207 for Wednesday July 22, 2026.

Can't ever give up the chance to put "Donnie Baseball" in the grid. For those who don't know, when Mattingly was first called up, he played the outfield, first and even at third. A lefty fielding third baseman is definitely a sight to see. Also can't give up a chance to put "El Gato" Andres Galarraga in the grid. Can't say that I've used Will "The Thrill" Clark in a grid before. Welcome.

On the flip side, a regular participant in the grid is Octavio Dotel. Dotel pitched for a total of 13 teams throughout his 15-year playing career. He's always someone to keep in mind when filling out your grid.

Its amazing to me how there were some solid 2B playing in the AL during the 1970s and 1980. Sweet Lou Whitaker was one of them alongside Bonny Grich, Willie Randolph and Frank White. Whitaker formed arguably the best 2B/SS combination with Alan Trammell. They played a total of 1,918 games from 1977 - 1995. They combined for 11-All Star selections with seven Gold Gloves and seven Silver Slugger awards. Shame that neither of them are in the Hall of Fame.

Good evening everyone. Here is my Immaculate Grid number 1206 for Tuesday July 21, 2026. I didn't realize that this is a pitcher heavy post.

Gerrit Cole wasn't only a 1st round pick for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was also a 1st round pick for the New York Yankees a few years before. Cole decided to go to College at UCLA instead of signing with the Yankees. I guess the Yankees eventually got their man.

Staying with the 1st round picks, I knew Dave Righetti was a 1st rounder, but he wasn't a 1st round pick for the Yankees. He was originally a 1st round pick for the Texas Rangers. I really couldn't come up with another pitcher who was a first rounder AND had 30+ saves.

Speaking of 30+ saves, I instantly thought of Donnie Moore of the California Angels. His story is heartbreaking. He gave up the monster homerun to Dave Henderson of the Boston Red Sox in game 5 of the 1986 ALCS. The Angels were 1 strike away from going to their first World Series. Instead as we know, the Red Sox won game 5, 6 and 7 to earn a spot against the New York Mets in an epic World Series. Moore was done with baseball during the 1988 season. He would tragically shoot and kill his wife and then shoot himself on July 18. 1989.

Good morning!!! Here is my grid number 1205 for Monday July 20, 2026.

The 23 is a nice score I put together. The Twins/Mets box could have broken the grid had I chosen someone like Frank Viola or Johan Santana. But I think I chose right by picking Rick Aguilera. Staying with the 1986 Mets, picking Sid Fernandez for the Mets/All Star box was a good choice. That team was so good they had five All Stars. Aside from Sid, the other four were grid breakers (Carter, Gooden, Hernandez, Strawberry.)

Its been a while since I've filled out an Immaculate Grid. Here is my grid number 1204 for Sunday July 19, 2026.

I almost broke my grid on the Dodgers/Reds box. I almost chose Joe Morgan, which would have been wrong. Morgan played for the Giants not the Dodgers. Then I though maybe Dusty Baker. But he didn't play for them. He just managed the Reds. So I went with Eric Davis, which for 19% of those who chose Davis was a sure bet.

Hope everyone had a happy Monday. Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1092 for Sunday March 29, 2026.

Dave Stieb was one of the best pitchers I saw growing up in the 1980s. That guy was snake bitten when it came to lost no-hitters. He lost two no hit bids in consecutive games, both in the 9th innings during the 1988 season. He also lost a perfect game with two outs in the 9th innings in 1989. He would finally gain the elusive no-no against the Cleveland Indians on September 2, 1990. In doing so, Stieb became the first only pitcher in Blue Jays history to throw a no hitter.

Feliz Domingo mi gente. Here is my MLB Immaculate Grid number 1091 for Saturday March 28, 2026.

I tried to do themes for each line. For the first line of MVP, I went with African American and former Negro League players Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron.

For the Only One Team line I went with three New York Yankees legends: Thurman Munson, Don Mattingly and Mickey Mantle.

For the final line of Born Outisde of the U.S. 50 States and DC, I honored the World Baseball Classic Champion Venezuela by picking three Venezuelan legends in Salvador Perez, Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera.

Thats one helluva lineup right there. Hasta Mañana,
