Sometimes addressing these issues may make this person angry with you but, as in the case of addiction, you are choosing the well-being of this person or yourself over the momentary discomfort. It’s definitely not easy but it is necessary. So, I missed saying happy birthday to some important people over the summer. I already came up with fully formed notes for them, but, at this point, it would be like apologizing weeks after a friend breakup in which I had a complete lack of and total control over. Just too little, too late, and dripping with regret.
