Hi my name is Jennifer, I'm transgender MtF and looking to get cricothyroid aproximation at the London Transgender Clinic. This will raise the tone of my voice without me needing to do do this manually when talking and the embarresment that goes with it when it slips. My voice is naturally too deep to pass without doing so and this gives me severe dysphoria. I've already been passed to the surgeons for GRS after 6 years speaking to the therapists, sadly voice surgery isnt available on the NHS and needs to be paid for privately . Mr Al Yaghchi’s initial consultation fee is £225.
Endoscopic examination of the vocal cords might be necessary. This will be at an extra cost of £100 plus hospital facilities charge. The latter will be around £150 and billed separately by the hospital.
The cost of glottoplasty is around £4500 including surgical fee, two follow up appointments, anaesthetic and hospital fees
