Hilda did a wonderful job of protecting and nourishing Ali under tremendously difficult circumstances. She had anaemia, very little to eat, and was very stressed and tired out.
Unfortunately, having a baby is difficult at the best of times - and although there's a very fragile ceasefire in place, things aren't much easier. Ali needs all the things that a new baby needs, and nobody has an income because there are no jobs yet.
To make matters worse, Hilda's Tumblr account has just been frozen again. She and her family are truly dependent on the support from this good community: without donations, they don't eat.

For all I like to pretend the cat in my avatars is actually me, it actually belongs to a friend of mine – and he's in a nasty spot of financial trouble right now.
He lost his job some time back and while he has a new one now, he hasn't been able to start it yet due to paperwork troubles - and in the gap between fell far enough behind on his mortgage and car payments that he won't make it without support.
The house is not only home to him and three cats, but - as he's talking around in the gofundme (since the area of the US he lives in runs deeply conservative and he's had to share it in stuff connected to his realspace identity too) - also has served as a temporary place for queer friends of his to stay after having been kicked out or needing to run away from home three separate times by now and he would like to keep being able to offer that safe haven.

A few days ago, my dog, Ares, had an emergency procedure done to remove a large skin tag/mass that had randomly burst, causing him to bleed at an alarming rate. He's currently doing fine! Just a lil tuckered out from the meds.
While it's good that I got approved for a payment arrangement on the spot, I still need to pay around $110-120 every month. With my current pay, minimal work hours, and the bills I already take care of, I'm barely scraping by as it is.

Well. Ok. It's my birthday (11/27). I'm 31. You may be wondering what I want for my birthday.
I want to move back home and have better support networks, better access to healthcare, be closer to my family, and be closer to my kid and my sibling who are both struggling phenomenally right now. I have a car now so if I move back to PA I can drive to go check on my sibling at least, and I can drive up to go pick up Lexi for her to spend time with me or me to spend time to take care of her, etc.
I also, quite frankly, need to move to a place that has a better economy that isn't dependent on snowbirds and tourism. In summer, business gets extremely slow and hours get cut. I need to make more money and my career path will let me do this but I need to move. I need to move to places that are paying better than what they're paying in Tucson. I am thousands of dollars in medical debt from the inaccessibility of healthcare in Tucson and from the Arizona State Medicaid (AHCCCS) fucking me over in a way I didn't even know was possible. I don't make enough money to afford the work healthcare plans and I don't make enough money to afford Medicare ACA plans either. Lowest premium is $319 for my status. Lowest premium at work offered was $139 for a tier I needed more of. AHCCCS thru Freedom to Work said my monthly would've been $20 but they've gone and fucked it all up. So I'm struggling.
Right now I have been trying to save up since making the decision in July. My plan is literally just to tow hitch a UHaul and drive across America back east. I'm in AZ and aiming to be back in PA. That's a multiple day drive, and I want to stay in inexpensive hotels in the meantime.
I'm aiming to be moving in February.
Currently my goal to fundraise is $2500. This helps me cover a potential down deposit, it will cover also - hotel costs, food, gas, partial rent/utilities for the first month as I get settled. It will help pay for the U-Haul and tow hitch. I may bump it up to $3000 if things look hopeful that I can fundraise enough.
