It's time to pay attention to a very bad and tough guy and his girlfriends!
Yes, Pete, it's time to discuss your relationships!
1. Trudy Van Tubb.
Let's start with the comics, because they're cool.
Despite the fact that we're shown Trudy and Pete as the typical "smart girl and dumb guy," I think their dynamic should be different.
Pete is a villain, right? And if that's the case, then Trudy should be like him. But... It would be even worse.
Pete and Trudy are like spicy licorice. Licorice and spicy marmalade are already terrible, so why would they combine them?!
They're both smart, both cunning, but they're not copies of each other.
Pete is rude, tough, and cruel, and he doesn't hold back in his expressions. Well, you know.
To be honest, I haven't read any comics with Trudy (the only comic in Russian with her presence was only a few pages long, and I couldn't find the rest of the comic). But I think the creators might be missing out on a lot.
She's also rude, but her insults are wrapped in sarcasm and jokes, and if she's being straight with you, it means you're really stupid. And don't forget the fact that she's a ginger cat! You remember that ginger cats are a little crazy, right?) This is reflected in her desire to get to know someone better in order to insult and hurt them even more in the future.
Pete is a man who can do everything with his own hands. Trudy is a woman who can do everything. When making plans, Pete counts his steps to reduce the mental strain, and he's not stupid, but why waste mental energy when it could be better spent on more important things like choosing food, alcohol, and/or cigarettes? When making plans, Trudy spends her energy on figuring out who or what she can buy to make things easier, because if she loses something, it will come back to her in greater quantity, right?
Their relationship is very harmonious, as I've already mentioned with the example of the spicy licorice. They don't try to fix each other, and no one forces them to behave like "real women/men." They enjoy being the trash, the bottom of the social status, the scum. They like it because they have each other and they love each other.
2. Peg.
Even though their relationship in the show was normal (?), I think their relationship in real life would have been toxic.
I don't want to make Peg a villain, but I think she would have been bored with Pete, or at least married to him. She wants the excitement and the spark she felt when they were dating in high school, when Pete was more unstable and jealous.
Now, Pete is trying to at least pretend to be a diligent person, if only for the sake of his family: he has a well-paying job so that Peg can only get a job if she wants to. He tries to be gentle with his children, spoil Pistol, and teach PJ what he knows. Although his brain is a little broken when Pistol gets the "villain" genes and Junior actually acts like a girl. He tries to understand his children and be a better person for the sake of his family. It's hard for him to be gentle with his son, as it goes against his principles that he has grown up with, but he tries. However, it's much easier for him with Pistol.
Peg loves her children and simply allows them to be who they want to be (within certain boundaries). It's easier for her with PJ, as he is very sweet and understanding, but it's more challenging with Pistol, leading her to resort to yelling and arguing with her daughter.
Let's go back to Pete and Peg's relationship:
Pete understands what's good and what's bad, as he's lived a bad life. He doesn't understand most of her hints, but he tries to be a decent husband by giving her gifts, taking her out to restaurants, finding more activities for their children outside the house so she can relax and they can spend time together, and keeping a notebook to remember her tastes and preferences.
But Peg wants to feel loved in a different way. She wants Pete to be jealous, to threaten other people not to touch her, to be bad again. So, she purposely gives a yellow light to those who flirt with her.
Pete keeps it in, but he still doesn't like (even hurts) to see how others stick to Peg.
He tells her to use her sassy side more, so she doesn't give the guys any ideas, but Peg pretends she doesn't understand what he's talking about. And Pete just leaves it alone, suppressing his anger and sadness. Until one day, he gets angry and a fight breaks out... Which ends with the hot sex that Peg loves. Or not, and they just argue and yell at each other until Pete leaves and doesn't come back until morning.
And it will continue until Peg starts talking about divorce, and Pete, tired of everything, agrees.
3. Goofy
Honestly, I don't see any romantic love between Pete and Goofy, but I understand why people like them, so I want to pay attention to them too.
Their chemistry is strange... Goofy acts like Goofy, and Pete acts like Pete.
Over time, their relationship becomes warmer, Pete becomes more patient with Goofy, and Goofy becomes more loving towards Pete. Pete doesn't even notice how he starts making the right decisions.
Until one day...
Pete: "Wait... We're dating??"
Goofy: "We're not dating??"
They're confused and don't understand what their relationship has become. Well... More like Pete. Goofy's just like, "Oh, okay. Let's date now."
And it works, and Pete has no idea how.
(I'm moving on to my favorite part, because the post is already long enough)
4. Donald.
Despite the fact that this is my favorite ship (and my addiction), I realized that I couldn't properly express my thoughts about them.
Pete and Donald are something else.
We don't see their relationship often, unlike Mickey and Goofy (unfair >:0), except for the Mickey Mouse Club and Mouse House kids' show. But when we do see them, they're either fighting or getting along.
I think about them so much, and I always feel like I'm both right and wrong.
They might have been friends in their childhood and youth, but during their time in the Navy, Pete had to pretend to be a traitor. Of course, it was later revealed that Pete was just playing a role, but it still hurt Donald. So when the duck found out about Mickey and Pete's feud, and what the mouse really thought about the cat... He was like, "Yeah, you know what? You're right." And that would just break Pete. So, they're feuding so much, but sometimes they forget about their fights and just go back to their old relationship.
Or they were fine... Before Mickey came along. When Donald and Pete realized that they were basically on different sides of the same river (Mickey's like a river, right? a cool wordplay? okay, whatever), they just decided to play along with Mickey. It's just that they sometimes get carried away in their "feud game"...
Or they were close, but after their breakup after the Navy, they didn't see each other for a long time. And when they met, they were already in the roles of "Mickey's enemy" and "Mickey's best friend," and they just didn't know what to do, so they continued to act as expected.
I have two headcanons that can and can't be related to some representation of their relationship.
1: Pete is the most and in fact the only (living) who knows about Donald's love for crossdressing (I don't know if it's possible to call Donald a drag queen, but I don't want to get confused about the terms). And I also have two options with this!: 1. Donald has been dressing like a girl since childhood, thanks to Della (you can read more about it in this post). And Pete was always okay with it, because he didn't understand why it should be "strange" in the first place, and then he just accepted it. So, it's a bit frustrating that no one knows about Donald's secret, but he's also proud that the duck trusts him enough not to shut him up or constantly remind him to keep quiet; 2. Once, Donald lost a game to Pete, and Pete jokingly forced him to be his girlfriend. Donald enjoyed it (Pete enjoyed that Donald enjoyed it). Then, you know... Life. And Donald closed himself off. And Pete keeps his word and doesn't tell anyone the secret.
2. Pete lost his leg for Donald. (My favorite scene from my head: Donald and Pete help people on boats escape by helping them climb onto a large ship/submarine. At the very last moment, when Donald is the only one on the boat outside, a shell falls. As soon as the smoke clears, Pete realizes that Donald is underwater and jumps in after him as the shells continue to fall into the water, where Pete injures his leg. Later, Donald wakes up in the hospital, where Pete is lying next to him, who refused to leave him far away while he was unconscious)
And their relationship now? GOD
Their relationship starts to get warmer with each meeting, until they finally decide that it's time to stop caring about Mickey and just start dating? YES.
They realize their love for each other, but Donald is a fucking tsundere, and Pete gets angry at him for it, and Donald gets angry at Pete in return, and they get caught up in a cycle of violent fights and a little bit of sex? +Bonus: Donald is horrified that their relationship is like Scrooge and Goldie's. BARMAN, GIVE ME MORE.
Donald is stressed and no one can help him because no one understands him like Pete, so the cat helps him? MESIE BARISTA, MORE CREAM AND SUGAR.
Donald and Pete start kissing during a fight and can't stop? CHEF, MORE PEPPER AND MORE SALT ON MY WOUNDS.
Donald misses his femboy adventures, and Pete understands and wants to help, but with pure intentions? MADAM COOK, MORE SPICES.
The kids find out that Pete and Donald were together, realize that their feelings can still be saved, and, despite the other adults, set them up? DAMN RIGHT, MORE FLUFF AND MORE EMOTIONS!
After the divorce, Pete falls into a depression, drowning in his thoughts that he is "nothing but problems", but Donald realizes that this is not true and kicks him to a psychologist and to a normal life? I LOVE GLASS, YES.
Just some kind of AU? YA-HOOO!!

4. Mindy
Thanks to @mistytoybear for allowing me to use their character!
This is the second OC x Canon pair that I love (after @fanoffandoms23 , they was first! And thanks to them, I stopped being such a bitch to those ships.)
A little bit of my personal opinion (although the whole post is my personal opinion): I really love Mindy! Her design is so cute and gentle, I just want to hug her and never let go! Although her personality is not so simple. I was very surprised when Sasha described her personality in more detail, and when I found out that she can also be tough (maybe even cruel?), I was like, "Wait, what?" Her appearance is just a treat, but it's very difficult to understand her true personality. Even if we understand that she's far from being a soft-hearted buttercream, it's still amazing to know about her "dark side." I think it's a great job of character design!
If you're already tired of reading me, you can contact the author I mentioned above to ask her more about Mindy.
But now it's time to let the skeletons out of the closet...
In fact, I was surprised that I fell in love with Mindy. I usually don't like oc x canon because it feels very raw. But I see this spark! This fire! This blaze!
Since the author himself likes the criminal Pete, I'll give him a "semi-good" business like selling used cars, or he could just be a lawyer or engage in money laundering.
Pete won't initially recognize Mindy. I mean, he'll recognize her as a person, but not as herself, rather as someone else. He might even occasionally call her by a different name.
At first, he will treat her like Minnie: teasing, spoiling, and trying to manipulate her. But Mindy is not Minnie. She stands up for herself and sees through Pete's manipulations in her own way.
Then, he will treat her like Peg: he will be cautious, continuing to make her a princess, "kissing the sand she walks on and sleeping with it under her pillow" (quoted from Goof Trop). Perhaps Peg enjoys this treatment, but Mindy does not. She's not made of glass, and she's not a bicycle, so she doesn't need support.
Then he will treat her like Trudy: more relaxed, more honest, showing his thoughts and emotions more often about everything that happens, not just certain moments, and finally treating Mindy as a more trusted person to share his plans with.
But Mindy may be cunning, but she's not criminal. But she won't fix him because she's not a rescuer.
And finally, Pete realizes that Mindy is Mindy. Yes, he can draw on his past experiences, but does he fully mirror them onto Mindy? No, of course not. Mindy doesn't try or want to fix Pete, leaving his decisions to him, and he learns to sacrifice and be more honest with his gentle side.
It's just that Pete is learning to be alive, and not just the "villain" he's used to being, even towards his loved ones. And who better than an artist to know how to breathe life into a paper?

I did it... I hope you enjoyed it and found it interesting... Have a nice day and thank you for your attention...
