i hope this doesnt flop, it took me two hours when i was meant to be sipping coffee… and idk why i became so obsessed with a yellow ball omg 💔
its also not that long Tags: verity being kinda freaky, but will be freakier next part i think 😛

You had never thought an adorable yellow ball would be hostile. One of your friends recommended you a minecraft mod that is helpful and acts like a real companion considering your friends are mostly offline and You are a sucker for Minecraft, especially when it comes to messing with horror mods.
The name of the mod was Verity, the picture showcased a yellow orb with a cute smile. Nothing crazy. It wasn’t exactly the horror you were looking for, but You of course agreed to it. You sat on you chair and logged into Minecraft, in front of you was a box with muffled incoherent voices inside, Y/N couldn’t exactly understand but the second the clicked the box. It floated to above head level before the box emptying to show a yellow ball with a smile, just like the picture.
“Hello!~ i’m Verity, you’re personal helper friend. Ask me anything, i know everything!” He greeted excitedly, his voice cheerful and energetic. You didn’t expect it to talk, but he sounded cute.
“Oh hey, Verity, i’m—“
He cut you off
“You’re Y/N!”
“Huh? How did you-“
“i told you, i know everything, including the player’s name, thats my purpose anyway!” He chirped, You would’ve thought it was weird. But you remembered your friend telling you that so you thought its normal. But you decided to challenge him for fun
“Alright then! If you’re really that smart and know everything, then what’s… umm” You paused before continuing “What’s 6767 x 6767!” He was definitely not getting this no matter what
“45,792.289!” He answered casually. No fucking way, your mouth was wide… you thought maybe he is smart but not THAT smart, you dont even know the answer either way.
“Holy shit.. alright, I don’t know the answer anyway so i believe you” You responded. With that, you scooped in your arms and went to find a village so you can build your house next to it
After a long time, you were tired. You couldn’t find a village so you asked Verity “Verity, where is the nearest village.. im tiredd!” You asked wearily. He replied with the same enthusiastic voice “It’s right behind you, Y/N!” He exclaimed warmly. You turned around and indeed saw the village. You felt flustered at how stupid that was, you were pretty sure he broke the nice facade in his mind and cursed your stupidity. But nah, he’s nice
You and Verity— more like you since he agreed on your every word- eventually agreed on a spot next to the village “Verity, can i have 64 wooden planks?” You requested. He dropped 64 wooden planks, just like you asked. “Here you go, Y/N. 64 wooden planks, juust like you asked!” You of course didn’t let his kindness go unnoticed
“Thank you, Verity! Really.” “Of course!”
“Can you also give me a bed?”
He gave you two beds, One yellow and one white
“Aha, thank you. Huh, i asked for one?”
“For both of us.” His voice less energetic than before
“Uh? ..Actually im gonna make you a separate bed” You spoke, you were slightly weirded out by the way he wanted to sleep next to you, but you can’t just blame him right away for your dirty mind. You placed two beds together, you didn’t want to make him feel sad for rejecting his offer. But you also wanted to make another separate bed just in case— or it could be his resting place
And just like that. You started building the house, it was a spacious and cozy house with a torch that acted like a dimly lamp. You made sure to build a small place with a yellow rug that matched his color two blocks away from your bed. You put him there. “Do you like this bed?” You asked “Yeah, but what about the bed next to you. Isn’t that for me?” He said. Why is he acting weird “Well yeah, i guess… you have two beds, good? Or you can also use this as a resting place. Yeah?” You managed to lighten the mood a bit.
Now it was time to sleep, it started getting dark outside, and you were sleepy too “Verity, can you sleep?” You asked, you didn’t want to leave him alone
“Im a code, i don’t sleep” He spoke “Oh, okay. Do you want to stay on your rest area or—“
“I want the bed next to you”
“Okay?”
You held him and put him on the yellow bed right next to yours. You glanced at him.. his smile was different. It was wide and toothy and overall just creepy. It was a contrast to the adorable smile he had that made you want to hug hum
“Verity, was your smile always been like that?”
“I always looked like that”
“You sure?”
“Yes” His voice was noticeably less energetic, even the one you thought was less energetic felt like a joke compared to this. You didn’t want to argue since you were yawning already “Alright then, Goodnight. Verity” You murmured a goodnight before almost immediately snoring the next minute. He sat there, just staring at you…
