Being in the DSMP fandom has teached me that people will hate on others for just liking something. No matter if you don't agree with the actions or wrongdoings of content creators or not... People will only look at the "they're a fan of __" and will use that to criticize and tear down others.

Not only that, but being in this fandom has made me realize people are more two faced than anything. In front of you they'll act all friendly and behind you they'll tear your image and name to shreds.

But you know what? I'll watch what I want to watch! Stop being an asshole to everyone just because they're a fan of something. Fan doesn't immediately scream stan.

People seem confused about how shows get made/cancelled... if turtles did indeed cut their order of episodes for their second season in half, that decision would have been made a year and a half to two years ago... and if some fat cat at nick decides to unpull the theoretical plug and orders more episodes, we wouldn’t even see that content for a long while.. also the fact that no season 3 has already been announced is a bad sign for the same exact reason. They work on this shit years in advance based on projections and possible outcomes of viewership, it’s all fucking fortune telling bullshit for the most part... anyway, i’m depressing myself again. Sorry for being a bummer today. I’ve had too many shows i loved get railroaded and cancelled for stupid reasons and I’m already naturally pessimistic 😔

god i hate the jeremy bearemy joke so fucking much because i have seen it done conceptually better in some many other places.

its just a lolrandum joke, it’s literally what if time was made of sporks, there is nothing clever to it, is just “wouldnt it be wacky if the timline just happened to spell a name??? the dot is tuesdays, lol!”

and everyone acts like this is just fucking mindblowing, “oh the dot broke me” fuck off, go watch primer, go and play braid, for christ sake.

there is so many fun things you could do with this! the idea that the timeline is actually drawing a coherent shape, and the form of the shape alters the function of time and that function is actually also coherent with the image that it depicts on multiple symbological levels.

like, remember where doc scratch talks about how the measure of time can be determined by 8 to the power of the variable Y, in other words 8^y and how he warned rose about “stares”? remember that entire chapter in unsong were we see how american pie is actually a reference to the new testament? remember when futurama made use of an actual theorem that was proven by one of the writers to solve the plot in one of its episodes? or when it turned out that mark whatney was an actual space pirate? remember when high level concepts could actually be explored and work as a joke on multiple levels? and the shows didnt have to make all the characters mindblown to signal that what is going on is really weird and clever?  but they cant do that because at the end of the day this is a stupid sitcom that cant allow itself to do anything more complicated than your bog standard american sitcom humor.

and it infuses everything about this stupid show! everything is brought down to base americana. is all dumb buzzfeed articles. its a pretense of depth but you scratch even a nanometer down and its all the same tired american sitcom cliches. god i hate this show so goddamn much.
