I know this meme is old, but I kept thinking about this at work and had to draw it.

You were calmly drinking some hot chocolate while reading a new book when Yukhei bursted through the front door and picked you up, swinging you around chanting,”Guess what!”

To anyone viewing this from outside they would think he was hyped up on coffee, but you knew this was just Yukhei as he normally was. If the boy had any caffeine in him he would literally be trying to climb the walls.

After a few minutes of being swang around and then finding your balance again you managed to ask him what had gotten him all pumped, Yukhei replying by stealing a quick kiss from your lips and winking,

“Because I’m so in love with you that’s why. But also because!!!” He paused dramatically before snatching you up in another loving embrace,

“There is a dog show going on in the park tomorrow and I put us down as volunteers so that way we can pat all the dogs!!!” He beamed as he finished, you smiling at his enthusiasm but also excited yourself to be able to help out tomorrow with him and see a bunch of adorable dogs.

The following day came around, the dog show a whirlwind of chaos and cuteness. As the pair of you arrived and finished helping set up obstacle courses, a flurry of furry constants arrived each with wagging tails and bouncing joy. They were all up for adoption, the event held to bring more awareness as well as hopefully find some happy homes for them. As you and Yukhei helped organise, and of course pet each one, for the day you were astounded at just how many different kinds of dogs there were. From plump corgis and pugs to ever so fluffy huskies and malamutes, to even little jack russell’s and giant dalmatiens, the park seemed like a doggy heaven.

As the show went on each furry boy and girl did their absolute best, some outstanding with their performances and others very hilarious in their antics. Yukhei couldn’t stop laughing at one point where a chihuahua was refusing to do anything but sit on top of the dog tunnel, only finally moving when it’s handler got it’s favourite treats. Soon awards were handed out and the event was finished, everyone having had a great time. Yukhei went around with you congratulating each dog and sneaking a few more pats in, before he decided to suddenly sweep you up into his arms bridal style and carry you over to where the adoption bench was. There he gently let you back onto your feet and turned you attention to the winner of most bounciest award. Sitting there gnawing at their award of a giant bone wrapped in a yellow ribbon was a fluffy golden retriever, roughly still a puppy in size and age, and wagging it’s tail at the speed of light upon seeing Yukhei and you,

“I was thinking maybe this guy would fit right in with us,” Yukhei asked hopefully, doing his own puppy dog eyes at you,

“As long as you don’t get jealous with me giving him more attention,” You answered with a light laugh, Yukhei hugging the cheerful puppy and saying to it that no matter how cute it was that it wasn’t allowed to steal your heart as you were already his. You both signed the papers and helped finish packing up what was set out for the show, soon walking home hand in hand with a new furry golden addition to your little bubbling family.
