It looks like you're answering asks, and here's one I've always wondered about. Where do your titles come from? "Hollow Your Bones," for instance, sounds to me like it's from poetry or Shakespeare or song lyrics or such. That is, they feel like they refer to something else, but I don't know the references. They're like quotes I can almost, but not quite, remember. If your titles are 100% yours and just one more facet of your brilliance, well, you're even more brilliant than I thought.
There are a few that are direct quotes! “Over the River and Through the Woods,” “Always Get What I Aim For,” “This is Halloween,” and “His Fate Will Be Unlearned,” are all from songs.
Many others are either obvious references or puns, like “Weekend at Barton’s,” “Every Time a Bell Rings,” “DJ’s Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Day.”
But for most of my long form, stand alone fics, I do my best to find a title that matches the theme of the story, as well as provide a germ of an idea of what’s coming. My greatest hope is that the title sounds kinda cool at the beginning, and then when you finish the story, you can look at the title and go, oh, so THAT’S what that means.
I pretend to be clever. 8)
“Hollow Your Bones Like a Bird’s” is mostly a story about grief, but it’s also a story of recovery. It’s a story how grief can hollow you out, leaving you looking perfectly normal on the surface, but suddenly and horribly fragile beneath that. It is about emptiness, not just for Clint, but for all of the Avengers as they struggle to put themselves back together in the wake of a horrible, horrible event.
A bird’s bones are hollow, and that allows them to fly. So the thing that makes them most vulnerable also makes possible one of their biggest advantages. Clint starts that fic as a disgraced SHIELD agent on the verge of losing himself. He ends it as an Avenger. It starts with an act of violence, it ends in a place of peace.
He is a survivor. He can’t go back to how he was. He can’t undo what was done to him. He’s not the same. And he ends the fic being kind of okay with that.
It’s one of my favorite titles. 8)

Is track 11 missing, or purposely deleted?
That is a good question and I do not know the answer :D I made the mix several years ago, so either I just skipped 11 when numbering them, forgot to add track 11 in, or I was working from an earlier track listing and couldn’t find a copy of that track. Sorry!
Let’s pretend I did it on purpose for dark, mystic Christmas reasons I can’t share lest the Krampus come for all of us.

Get a hatchet. You can use the other end as a hammer and you can fend off birds or whatever and it ups your outdoorsy cred :)

i don't know how old this tent is but you might want to double check or reapply waterproofing to the seams. that is a NASTY surprise to have on an actual trip, and i've had even NEW tents that leaked without a post-purchase coat
It’s brand new, but I do have waterproofing on my list of stuff to do. Though being real, if I’m planning to camp and it looks like rain I will probably just not camp :D

I always liked the Salt Lick. Did it close? Other possible options: https://austin.eater.com/2016/11/17/13664076/where-to-eat-at-austin-airport
I love that Austin Eater made a list, as if you can’t just...walk two blocks and see every option there is to see. :D I’ve eaten everywhere on that list except the wine bar and coffee stands, and at least in my experience not one of them has truly edible food. I think ABIA has some kind of coolant field which prevents food from ever getting more than lukewarm.
Honestly, I’m always confused by how every place that talks about Austin gives the airport Salt Lick a good review. I’ve eaten there twice and normally I give restaurants three goes before writing them off, but I will never, ever eat at the Salt Lick again. Every time I read a good review of it I wonder if there’s some kind of second, hidden ABIA Salt Lick that isn’t a random dive bar in the middle of an airport serving cold gritty pulled pork sandwiches and wet french fries. :D

Sam, would almond milk be ok to use with this recipe?
(For reference it’s the corndog recipe)
It should be. I’m a little shaky on the chemistry, but I believe the milk is added just to give wetness to the batter, and milk is used because it’s more flavorful than water. We used skim milk, so the fat content isn’t the important part, which leads me to believe almond milk would be fine!

Didja get to the part of the article where it talked about the food truck court? With the mobile pizza kitchen? Named (honesttogod) Stony's?
I skipped it because the South Terminal flies basically no carriers, but now re-reading it I am DYING.
A “proper food truck court” with a ROTATING SELECTION OF TWO FOOD TRUCKS. You know what that means, that means there is ONE FOOD TRUCK. :D Which is there Monday, Thursday, Friday, or Sunday, according to their website. Oh god, it’s just sad. I mean, Austin has a really weird take on how food trucks should work in any case, but this is a whole new level of what the fuck.
Also, the outdoor dining area is like, some upscale Pottery Barn patio furniture on a concrete slab, surrounded by an eight-foot steel fence. Now I want to fly somewhere on Allegiant just so I can visit the south terminal.
Stony’s is pretty funny, though :D

Gah! How is there a Salt Lick at the airport? Isn't that the opposite of their tag line, "Way the heck out there but worth every mile!"? (It is, by the way. Both way the heck out there and also worth every mile.)
Well, I mean, ABIA is pretty far to go for barbecue, and getting through security and all. But I’m genuinely shocked the Salt Lick restaurants are worth going to, because the one at the airport is hideously misrepresenting the quality of their food if so. I’ve pretty much resolved never to eat at the Salt Lick at all based on my experiences in ABIA.

A restaurant near me serves sweet potato tater tots. Really really good sweet potato tater tots. From now on, I'll be picturing them as having come from Potato Rescue. Thanks!
You know, I’ve never been much of a fan of tater tots, but I bet I would like them a LOT more if they were made with sweet potatoes.

Speaking of Vermeer, have you ever seen the documentary “Tim’s Vermeer”? I loved it, and I suspect you would as well. You can see much of it on YouTube, but it’s worth seeing the whole thing (IMO).
Oh yes! I stream it every once in a while. For a film that is literally 1/3 "A guy painting shit" it's surprisingly compelling.
