🏡cottagecore dorm/small space ideas:
at least one cookie jar, even if you don’t bake. put store bought cookies in it. 100% guarantee it will bring happiness
a rug. rug hooking is fun and easy to learn also
plants! especially herbs! bonus points if they’re in cute lil pots
throws, pillows, and blankets for optimum coziness and homey feel
diy decor like pompom tassels, banners, knit/crochet/felted/macrame things to fill up boring walls (check your rules on hanging things first)
knick knack dish
soft lighting like a salt lamp or fairy lights
vintage pieces to display (old pyrex bowls, figurines, pictures, memorabilia)
wicker baskets/bins. idk they’re so quaint
cute stationary
a quilt. because quilts. also, bedskirts will generally hide any underbed storage from view
books, especially to educate yourself on hobbies and interests
mason jars are adorable, cheap, and make great storage
^enamel jars are easily thrifted and can hold bulk items
scented candles/wax burner (if allowed!)
cute patterned tea towels, oven mitts, and pot holders. i have a pair of oven mitts with chickens on them, 11/10 would reccomend kitschy kitchenware

Study room highlights. It's nice to have a variety of spaces (even if it's only a different direction to face a chair) when stuck in your room to study. I have my bed, my desk, and my old futon. The variety is really nice, and moving things around periodically helps to keep it fresh (and encourages you to clean the hard to reach places)

Has anyone gotten to the point of bringing the bare minimum to college?
I'm tired of toting around a whole bunch of crap that just sits in my storage bins all year... anyone who brings the bare minimum wanna share exactly what that is?
My dorm!
I’m in a single on the fourth floor of a house built in 1877 or something. I’m above the back staircase and I overlook a parking lot but also the main campus street which is really cool. I’m on a floor with 8 or so other people and we share 2 toilets and 2 shower stalls, but if they’re occupied we can just go downstairs and use the 3rd floor which has 4 of each and shit ton of space, a kitchenette, and more people.
And here’s some pics!
