Oh yeah?! Well, we’ll certainly see about that one!
Hmmm... Looks like no one thought to prevent Sidon from coming into Gerudo Town. Eeeheehee!
How to Escape with Sidon
The Sigil
Discovered in the bowels of the lava caves in Bears Grove, this sigil was used by the necromancer called Dorokova to hide their meddling in the dark arts, and their growing number of ghouls. It was created by their lackey, Yerith, a drow that has attempted to murder the party on more than one occasion, and has a history of working with powerful necromancers for unknown ends.
Carrying this mark, or using it to cover an area where necromancy is being practiced will hide the deeds from the very watchful eye of the Void Walkers.
Dorrah has requested that it not be used by the party, so that she may be able to find them when needed. It is up to Bal to decide if he will heed her request, or deliberately block her sight out of his extreme distrust of her dark-eyed master.
A lot of NPCs disappear after you escape Dark Beast Ganon. (This does not count traveler NPCs who you find on the road.)
Anyway, in some instances, you can make a stationary NPC appear, such as Kass here, or Damia, Cloyne or either of the Gerudo guards at Gerudo Town. If you’re quick, you can talk to them before they disappear, which is how you can play the Test of Wood after escaping DBG. Or, if you’re just a little bit too late, you can lock up your game, leaving Link to stand, looking at nothing but the scenery.
Here’s another example of talking to a disappearing NPC:
I was like “What if Nintendo wasn’t a transmisogynist, racist piece of shit?” so I wrote this.
They fidgeted in front of the guards as they looked them over. Vilia had promised Link that the outfit bestowed upon them would keep them from being kicked out of Gerudo Town, and allow them to speak to the Chief.
Her voice made it seem like she was smiling under her scarf, not in a mocking tone, but reassuring. That made them feel better at the moment, but now in front of the towering guards- their expressions hidden behind similar scarves to Vilia’s, they didn’t know.
What felt like eons, was maybe more a few seconds, one of the guards spoke finally, “You have permission to enter,” and a relieved breath left Link’s lips without their permission, “but” that relief flooded out in an instant, and their spine snapped to attention. The Gerudo guard set her spear against the city walls and kneeled down to Link’s height.
“Your scarf will be blown away in the winds if you wear it like this— may I?” She gestured to the piece of sheer fabric covering Link’s hair. Link blinked, momentarily confused before the woman set out to set their scarf correctly.
“I suggest learning some Gehrudonihv- our language- if you intend to stay.” She begins, wrapping the scarf first around Link’s neck loosely, “The most common terms you will hear I will tell you: Sa’vorq is good-bye, Sa’vaaq is good-day, Vai means woman, and Voe means man.” She brings the scarf just to cover over Link’s hairline and so close, they can see the wrinkles of a smile at the corner of her eyes.
Link raises their hands, “And if you’re neither?” they sign. The woman gives a small chuckle. “Well, For you, I would suggest using ‘Vae’ which is neither, or both.”
The guard stands again, raising her own hands, “Sa’vorq” and signing the counterpart to it.
Link returns the gesture, before walking into the gates and entering Gerudo town. Behind them, they hear one of the guards call back, “Get a Noble Pursuit while you’re there too! It’s on me!” Which they suspect to be the other guard that stayed silent during the ordeal.
Dorrah grabs her weapon from its resting position, standing back in her place at the archway. “Such a softie,” Merina coo’s from her opposite position, knowing that Dorrah would elbow her in the guts were she any closer. Dorrah scoffs, “I was making sure it had Vilia’s emblem and not some Yiga replica.” Merina laughs as her partner crosses her arms indignantly, “Are you sure? You felt it too, that vae had this air around them. Something to be trusted- even if they hadn’t had Vilia’s stitch you’d let them in anyways!”
Dorrah tossed a stone at Merina’s head, a smug smirk working under her Niqab at the other Gerudos' cry. Yes, she was certainly glad they had begun this tradition. She would hate to throw out some soul for an assumption wrongfully made by the clothing they wore. Thank Vilia and her brilliance.
