Who (or what) did you idolize in your youth?
I totally idolized KK, who is an Indian singer (and I have been answering this backwards and so have just realized that I've linked to one of his songs in question 3, whoops. So yeah, that voice is his, and daaamn.), before I got to know him better (in that he's a) adorable, b) adorably cracked and c) adorably discomfited-and-made-gleeful-in-equal-measure by how sexy I find him. :P) So the fact that we kinda-sorta know each other now sort of nullifies that, I suppose.
Um. Idols. Well, I once came across a fictional fireman cat who somehow evolved in my head to become the Friend-Of-All-Vehicles. (Don't even ask. Vehicles are sentient in my head. Yes, they still are. No, not like in the Cars universe.) He was my idol for almost a decade.
Any guilty pleasures?
...I. Shameless almost-schmoopy hurt/comfort. Sexual-kink-free h/c-y fanfiction. I don't even know. I shouldn't feel guilty for that, I suppose, but seeing as I'm surrounded by kinky prompters and fillers and everyone is so happy and most of the time all I want is gen...it gets a little awkward at times? (Not that I have anything against kinky stuff, of course. Fandom is fandom and everybody in it is awesome. I don't count haters as part of fandom anyway. :D)
What’s the one phrase from any book/film/show/etc that has inspired you the most?
Cain is for Charlie and Delta is for Cain springs to mind, but it's just a sort of reminder that a) nothing is as it seems and b) everything is connected to everything else, so yeah, not that. Probably either You are not helpless. You will find your way. from the same book (The Bourne Identity), or (from The Prometheus Deception) Reach for your weapon, never the wound.
If you extend that to other languages, Havaaon se aage iska jahaan (which translates loosely to Her province lies in cresting the waves of the wind and has all sorts of unstoppable-force-immovable-object connotations) has been a large part of my life for about...eight years now. (It's a part of this song, if you're curious - click the play icon next to 'Door Se Paas'. It does lose some of its beauty in the process, but I'd be happy to translate.)
When you look into a mirror, do you tend to just notice yourself or your environment as well?
My usual reaction to looking into mirrors consists of mentally saying to myself, 'You look extremely weird.' ...So yeah, just myself.
What kind of character do you prefer: One that is more introspective or more extrospective?
I'm drawn to characters that remind me of myself, so I suppose I'll have to go with introspective. Then again I and the characters I love are sort of neither. We do live in our heads a bit, but that's because there's so much stuff in our heads that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with us, if you see what I mean. (References: Jason Bourne of the books, not the films; James T. Kirk of Star Trek: TOS, not Reboot.)
You’re able to make three wishes for a complete stranger (basically, he/she/etc would be the only one to gain anything), what would they be?
...Um, I don't know? I think I'd at least want to see the person first so I could hazard a guess at what they might want or need. Otherwise I'd just wish that they get whatever it is they happen to want or need. :/
What is your idea of paradise?
Darkness and solitude and good roads and a purring engine. And pens and paper for when I want to pull over. :P
What is something you’ve always wanted to be good at?
...Sports, I suppose. Singing might count, except that I was once good at it (before asthma more or less wrecked my singing voice).
Biggest pet peeve?
Poor grammar. Adjectives used as nouns and/or nouns used as verbs. Some Americanisms turn me off to a great degree as well (such as 'different than' instead of 'different from' or 'the person that [did so-and-so]' instead of 'the person who'), but I suppose that's just a very strong stylistic preference.
Favorite writing style?
I'm assuming the question refers to fiction, so: third person, past tense. I switch points of view a bit, so omniscient, I suppose, but I like to get into characters' heads, so their internal monologue isn't always differentiable from - well, mine.
Science fiction or fantasy, and why?
Which is your favourite book?
How do you see the TOS Kirk-Enterprise dynamic?
Which is your most obscure fandom (and tell me a little about it, please :3)?
Which is your favourite sonnet? (It can be by anyone.)
Who's your favourite James Bond?
Who's your favourite Muppet?
Leaving nationality out of it, Aston Martin or Lamborghini? (If you're not a car person and/or have a hard time choosing, try doing it with a fictional character of your choice in mind.)
If you could learn another language, which would it be and why?
Hit me with your most hilarious/stupid/lame/WHATEVER pun. :D
