Thank you!! I’ve been purposefully changing things up, because part of the point of the exercise was supposed to be to practice a little bit of everything. ^^;

Thanks!! I had a lot of fun with this one. When I did a lot more film, I always loved filming off of reflective surfaces for interesting shots and perspective; I’m glad I finally made myself draw something along similar lines.

I hear artists talk about working on backgrounds all the time, too. Even hobbies are work! I wish you success!

I’m *notoriously* bad at drawing backgrounds on things. They take a long time and then there’s that whole perspective thing... (I think I just get bored having to work on it for so long, mostly. That’s part of the reason I majored in film instead of animation... or comics. Which I probably should have majored in, since everyone thought that’s what I was in anyway.)

Artist asks: 18. What are you currently trying to improve on?

Short answer: lots. 

Less short answer: I’m usually trying to improve a lot of things. One of the things I’m trying to start getting back into the habit of doing consistently is BACKGROUNDS. And by that I really mean “settings.” Because I love doing random portraits and posed characters and stuff, but oh god I’m so bad at actually drawing backgrounds and settings past what the people are actively interacting with, if anything. (Even then half the time it’s just random shapes that give the vague effect of whatever it’s supposed to be.) I’m also always trying to work on anatomy, poses, lighting, and color. So yeah. Lots.

For the AO3 meme: 1!

Oops oh my gosh it’s Cruise Control.

Hmm.

Cruise Control is not my most popular fic by any means, but it is very close to my heart because it was my first MCU fic. It was a fill for my own prompt (oops) on the kinkmeme, in which I rambled on about my treating-cars-as-people thing and wished to see Tony, who seems much more at ease with mechanical and electronic devices than people, do something similar with his eight swanky supercars.

It may have few hits and very few kudos, but it does have a bookmarks-to-kudos ratio of 0.43 - the highest among my fics. :D

Things I like about Cruise Control:

EVERY CAR HAS A PERSONALITY. EVERY CAR HAS AN AGE AND A HISTORY WITH TONY. EVERY CAR HAS MEMORIES. Every car has a unique equation with Tony and the others, and a unique appearance, and they all match their makes and models very well, I think. :D

MULTIDIRECTIONAL UST EVERYWHERE. I LOVE EET. It just kind of happened while I was writing the fic, and it felt right, and it still does.

I quite like Kate as a character! And I really like what I did with her experiences of suddenly being human, and the hurt/comfort I got in for her.

And, as a bonus, I think I managed to end the fic quite well. :D

Yeah, it was like the first thing that came to mind when I was trying to think of something that wasn’t actual words to go in the speech bubble. I spent like a half an hour scrolling through various physics books on google books haha. The quote was from Newton at the beginning of the chapter on the Theory of Attraction in one of them, and I thought it an appropriate caption.
