the episode of angel season 1 that comes right after pangs when buffy goes to visit angel is such a garbage episode LMFAO. buffy is here to visit her dad and we hear nothing more about that at ALL but she of course has stopped by to see angel so she can tell him off for coming to sunnydale to stalk her without saying anything for like a week. and then angel kills a demon which *checks notes* just brings him back to life. no vampirism no soul curse just a regular alive guy. because he fought a RANDOM DEMON in a sewer. so he asks doyle to talk to The Powers That Be, whatever that means, and he says yeah okay let's talk to the oracles. WHAT ORACLES???? we've never talked to or about any oracles before ever. but okay we are talking to these freaky weird alien looking oracles who are on another plane of existence apparently and they say yeah no it's cool man you're just alive again there's no catch. so angel goes for a walk in the sun and eats a bunch of chocolate and peanut butter and has massive amounts of sex with buffy and she licks ice cream off his bare chest. but turns out the demon he killed is back so he goes out to kill it as a human alone. and buffy obviously comes to help him because he is just a human guy now and she is the SLAYER and she almost gets killed but doesn't. like usual. and this demon says something about how the end days are coming? which btw happens at least once a season on btvs so that's also like usual. but angel goes back to the oracles and says please return me to my cursed painful existence because i need to protect my girlfriend who isnt my girlfriend who lives in a different city and who by the way is THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and can easily protect herself. and the oracles say okay well we don't want this to affect the plot of btvs because that would be inconvenient so we will just delete an entire day from existence just for you babe. and only you'll remember! and then the day resets and angel kills the demon and buffy goes back to sunnydale and that is IT. net zero affect on anything in either show and a waste of our time and as usual sarah michelle gellar is a genuinely incredible actress and david boreanaz is just okay which in comparison means he really sucks so bad

opinion on doyle's death

STOP I WAS DEVASTATED i actually liked him so much and was so shocked they killed a main character after just 9 episodes, i genuilly cried. i was soooo convinced he would come back and that he wasn't really dead or something but he really was and i just couldn't believe it. couldn't stop thinking about him during the whole show, i never got over his death.

he got killed cause the actor was an addict btw and they couldn't work with him anymore and he died in 2002 cause of overdose😭😭

Doyle is an interesting guy. I'm struggling to be engaged by his actor so far, hoping it gets better. But I think the half-demon thing lends itself to a neat reading of him as a trans man, particularly (at least within these first two episodes) a straight trans guy who is trying to be stealth but keeps being put in situations where he's forced out. Particularly, the line about "don't tell her about the half-demon thing, it makes girls feel weird" rolls a certain way, ykwim?

I suppose we'll see if this thread continues to be pulled.

I like how the show set up Angel getting the visions from Doyle in the AU in 3x11 in 1x04 when Doyle admits to being attracted to Angel. I appreciate shows that think ahead.
