Dr appointment went ok.

He wants me try driving around my neighborhood before trying to drive on Monday, to get comfortable with how I need to position my foot. He then ok me to go to work on Monday but he wants me to use the scooter 🛴 while at work. Follow up appointment next week on Thursday.

The usual

I’m nervous for my appointment tomorrow. It’s so draining dealing with the doctors and nurses. Also they don’t really wait for me to process their questions and give them full answers? They always cut in to try to finish what I’m saying and it throws me off my thought process so I end up taking even longer to answer. But this is a cardiologist and from what I've seen before they mostly treat older folks so maybe they have more patience there? Idk.

So I went to my wheelchair appointment. The people at Good Shepherd were amazing! They were kind, thoughtful, empathetic, and even encouraged wheelchair use with my semi-rare condition so I didn’t deteriorate faster! The woman I spoke with was very sweet and had even just seen someone with Elhers Danlos just the day before me! I loved her! So we decided that the best chair for me was the TiLite TRA and it’ll take about 3ish more months for me to get my chair. First insurance needs to accept it, pay for it, and then it’s built. Because I have blue cross it shouldn’t take too terribly long and I’m hoping to get my chair by January. For anyone who is curious I got the TRA in the color Black Lava which is a matte black <3 like my soul.

Went for a check up today, during which I was tickled and the Dr took twice the time needed to get it done.. Mom was giving me death stares... He said he remembers me from 5 moths ago and said that if I got pregnant I should go to him to help deliver the baby. He also asked if I have someone in my life as a joke :') most of that visit was embarrassing 😅

Emailed pain management a month ago about ADA accommodations for my next appointment (my doctor wearing a mask that covers his nose, bring in my own air purifier etc) and after 3 weeks of no response I called them to be told they hadn’t even opened the email. Then they waited until the day before my appointment to respond and tell me that none of the accommodations are reasonable or possible and offered no alternatives

Then I got to call them person in charge of ADA stuff at the hospital who didn’t answer and now I’m waiting for their response
