Graveyard: My character will visit your character’s grave. [ x ]
”Maybe… Maybe I should go visit her.”
”No. I can’t…"
And three fruitless years of grieving.
She didn’t regret spending her time doing so. Not at all. But, she was filled with sorrow. Another close person that she cherished… Gone. Why? Why did this always happen to her? She hadn’t experience such loss ever since her mother disappeared. Although this didn’t hurt as much when her mother went away, it still hurts. A lot. The pain was almost unbearable.
”I’ll visit… I have to." She made up her mind.
Hands on the steering wheel, she drove off to the graveyard where Sunmi was buried. Oh, how lifeless her body looked before the burial. It didn’t even look like her, not one bit. She remembered every single bit of details on that day. She knew that approximately 30 close friends were there. A couple hundred fans were there. The weather… It was gloomy— fitting for the event.
Lee Sunmi
Beloved idol, singer, and ex-member.
Born: May 2nd, 1992.
Died: September 23, 2011.
The inscription on Sunmi’s tombstone made her heart ache. A sincere smile washed upon her visage as she bent down, eye level with the stone. “Sunmi,” she started off— strong and unweary, “there are many who miss you, including myself. I hope you’re doing better up there…” Her voice was starting to crack. That strong front that she held up in front of everyone… It was slowly starting to break in front of Sunmi.
Heaving a deep breath, she continued on. “I… I miss you terribly. I wish that I was there by your side when you passed away. But, no. I wasn’t and I regret every moment of doing whatever I did instead of being next to you.”
Zombie Apocalypse. (something au and fun since I'm stuck in the general verse forever haha)
Zombie Apocalypse: That’s it, they’re done for. Might as well go down swinging right? Or maybe they can beat this thing….somehow. [ x ]
Never in her life would she imagine this happening. A zombie apocalypse? She was pretty darn sure those things only existed in movies, movies only. But news broke out— There was a zombie apocalypse. Whoop-de-fuckin’-doo. Dusk and Kris was in the safest place on Earth, for now.
Only humans.
But, little did he know that she wasn't human herself. Mutant. That was what she was. Better than a zombie eating another's brain out, but still not human. They were sitting in the coffee shop down the street from where she lived, watching the news and getting updated on whatever they had to say.
"Breaking news! Seoul, South Korea is now bein--!"
The two exchanged glances as the broadcast broke off into crackles. Safe? Not anymore. "Well shit. Yesterday we were okay, and now we're going to be seeing zom--" She took a pause in her dialogue as she heard a scream outside (but of course, the other wouldn't be able to hear such a sound, for it was too far away for a human's hearing capability). "We need to go. Now."
And with that, she paid for their drinks and grabbed his hand, quickly making an exit. "I'm going to estimate that in approximately less than ten minutes, Seoul is going to be brimming with zombies," she uttered as she ran down the street, still tightly holding onto the taller's hand, to a safer place-- her home.
"What? What the fuck do you mean, Dusk?"
"Shut up for now and don't ask any questions."
Multiple low grumbles was heard from the alley, in the direction where she was supposed to turn. And she knew that those weren't your average Joe's noises-- those were zombies. "Fuck," she cursed, stopping at the opening of the alley, catching her breath at the same time. "Tell me, Wu Yifan, do you fight? Because, I think I would need a hand or something."
His eyes narrowed at her, opening his mouth to question her. "Zombies. Up front. I just need you to have my back, and I'll take care of everything."
The air was heavy with the smell of sweat of gyrating bodies and alcohol. What more could a New Years party even smell like? Every now and then Taehyun would get a whiff of marijuana coming from somewhere near the gardens. He wasn’t surprised. Perhaps disgusted, seeing as how he had never liked the strong smell, but nowhere near surprised. In fact, Taehyun was far too busy to find a victim to even bother with such insignificant little details. He weaved between bodies that pressed far too close to him, and passed each female that had her arms wrapped around another male. They wouldn’t do. Taehyun had had his gaze fixed on a certain female ever since the party had started. He had lost her in the sea of people for quite some time, but once again his eyes caught sight of the petite frame.
“Excuse me.” He muttered coldly as he shoved past yet another pair of drunken teenagers. They reminded him of himself, but he dismissed such a thought as he continued on his path towards the beauty in his range of sight. This time his voice was far lighter as he gently tapped her shoulder. “Excuse me.” He watched her locks ruffle as she turned to face him. The female was quite a bit shorter than he was – much like most females were – so he found himself gazing down at the dark eyes that stared up at him. But his attention was caught by something else. As she questioned his sudden appearance, he couldn’t tear his gaze away from the pink tint of her lips which only seemed highlighted by her fair complexion.
He found himself at a loss of words for quite some time. Instead he silently pointed at the clock that inched closer to the strike of midnight. Dropping his voice to a whisper he leaned towards her, cupping his hands around his lips so that she could hear him amidst the sound of the crowd. “I’m going to say sorry beforehand, okay? Had to do it before the New Year.” Before she could question him further his arms snaked around her waist as his lips carefully pressed against her own.
“Three…”
The shouts of the crowd around them fell onto deaf ears as his fingers tangled into the female’s short locks.
“Two…”
He would probably have another second or so before he would be slapped, but he’d make sure to move away before that happened.
“One.”
Reeling back, he offered the female a cheeky grin, loosening his grip around her waist as he did so. “Happy New Years.”
The bass of the music was all that rang through his veins as he reached out for the next bottle of alcohol that he could find. What other way did Taehyun plan to spend New Year’s Eve? Definitely not doing something other than drinking the night away with Joon. Had Joon taken a sip out of his cup yet? Taehyun was unsure. By the time the other had made his way into his place, Taehyun had already been staggering around the premises. Without another thought, he pressed the cold crystal of the glass to his lower lip, letting the liquid burn through his throat as he tilted his head back. His drink spilled slightly due to the sudden shake of his frame coming from the nudge of his companion’s shoulder. He shot the other a glare, his words a slur as they left his lips.
“What do ya want, duuumbass?”
With the way Joon stared at him, he was certain that he would receive a scolding. Even with his senses dulled from alcohol, he could pick up that Joon had barely had one cup. From what he could remember, the younger had never liked the taste. Either that or something about how it was morally wrong. Some bullshit like that that only caused Taehyun to roll his eyes. He watched the other as his lips parted, brows furrowing as he readied himself to tell Taehyun to stop. He could see it coming. But he wouldn’t let it happen. He wouldn’t let the party-pooper ruin his fun. Before he knew what he was doing, he had dropped his cup onto the floor. Glass shattered against the tiles, catching Joon’s attention immediately. Before he could react to the liquid running along the wooden floor his shoulders were grasped by firm hands.
Taehyun jerked the small frame forward till he found his lips messily crashing with the others, and before long his lips moved onto their own accord. When he made the effort to forget that he was kissing a male rather than a busty female (something he would’ve preferred), it made things much easier. But before the moment could get any more awkward than it already had, he pulled away only to narrow his eyes at the male.
He was late. He had given him one – one simple task, and even then, the bloodsucking leech couldn’t do it. Taehyun tilted his head up to stare at the clock that ticked ever so slowly. Five seconds to 7:30. Four. Three. Two. And just as the thin second hand hit the six, a thump (resembling what Taehyun could only believe to be a knock) resonated through the four walls of the small apartment. It was beyond tempting to ignore the sound. Maybe then he would finally understand that when Taehyun meant for him to come at seven, he would. Not thirty minutes later. Not when the pizza had grown cold. Not when Taehyun had already used up half of his laptop’s battery, only leaving them with barely 50% to watch their horror film. And definitely not when Taehyun’s irritation had hit a peak.
The couch chimed with a soft creak as Taehyun pushed himself off the worn piece of furniture. He slid across the tiles, letting his socks glide him to the door, careful not to slam into the entry way. Just as his fingers curled around the bronze doorknob, he seemed to hesitate once again. Rather than opening the door, he pressed his back against the wood, head resting against the frame. His anger had settled slightly and his voice rang out in a sing-song tone.
“What’s the password?”
“You’re a faggot.”
Much like always, Taehyun found himself reacting instinctively rather than thinking about his answers. Yanking the door open, he glared at the shorter male. “What did you call me?” His voice dripped with ice, and yet both knew that the older male meant no harm. In fact, when it came to Suga, he would never mean any harm. Suga had grown to become an individual that Taehyun had become undeniably attached to. It was near impossible to harm the vampire anyways, but Taehyun wouldn’t dare do it even if he had the means to do so. It’d pain him more than it would pain his companion.
“I knew that was the password.” With a cheeky grin, the male waltzed into the apartment as though such banter was normal between the two. And in fact, it quite was. There were very rare moments where the boys were ever seen in a civil conversations. Most would either end in vulgar language or bloody noses. If words weren’t thrown around, fists were. The only calm moments the pair had seemed to be when they were concentrated on food, and that didn’t seem to happen lately – not with Suga’s new lifestyle. Taehyun would be lying if he said he didn’t miss it.
Dismissing such thoughts, he made his way back to his couch where Suga had already climbed up onto the other end. His irises were redder than usual, and with the way his fingers curled into his palms, Taehyun knew for a fact that something was up. It wasn’t often that he saw his friend so calm and collected. In fact, it was unnatural for him to be in such a state in front of Taehyun. His orbs had fixated on the flickering screen of the television before them even though nothing of relevance seemed to be playing. Taehyun pressed his palms against the plush exterior of the sofa, ready to reach a hand out to gently pat the other’s shoulder when a curt command stopped him before he could move another inch.
“Don’t you dare.” The unfamiliar hiss that escaped the vampire caused the colour in his face to drain. Not due to fear, but shock. Sheer surprise etched into his countenance as he gawked at the other. There was no hint of playfulness found in the three words that left his lips. Not even the slightest drop. It didn’t take long for Taehyun to put two and two together.
“Why the fuck would you drag your sorry ass over to my place before feeding?”
Silence lapped over the pair. It seemed as though months had passed even though a matter of seconds was all it took to cut the lack of sound. Taehyun wasn’t sure what he expected when the male opened his mouth, but the minute Suga seemed to be readying himself for a response, Taehyun found himself immersed in the various things he could say. Much like a prepubescent teenage girl, he sat with his mind flickering to things he didn’t think he had the ability to come up with. What if he said it was because he missed me? What if it’s cause he didn’t want to keep me waiting? Why do I sound so fucking gay?
He had lost himself in his own trance and had just barely caught the whispered words that left the other. For a second, Taehyun found himself frozen in his spot. Had he heard right? He jerked his head to the right to find the younger’s eyes boring into his own. He narrowed his own eyes for a second, contemplating whether to make any comments. Only after a few seconds did he question the other.
“Say it again.”
“You’re a dumbass.”
“That’s not what you said.”
“You’re a faggot.”
“Suga –“
“Fine. Cause I – no. Fuck you. I’m not saying it again.” Suga’s reddened gaze turned away, breaking the eye contact they had had early. Letting out an irritated sigh, Taehyun opened his mouth to speak only to be cut off by the vampire once again. “No, shut the fuck up. I’ll say it.” Taehyun’s lips curled up into an amused grin as he watched the other’s gaze fall onto his lap, uncertainty lacing his features.
“I think — don’t get too excited now — I think I like you.”
Would it be cliché to say that time had stopped? Or would it be more accurate to say that Taehyun’s clock had run out of batteries? Either way, he found himself frozen in time for a moment. A very short moment in fact. Perhaps his next comment would ruin the moment, but he could care less as he easily tossed the remote at the male who now refused to look at him.
