Have any Corestrings-heads thought a bit more about this snippet of the prophecy?

(this chatter is going along with the notion that The Angel is the SOUL/Player, and that Gaster wrote the prophecy)

Preventing myself from getting into serious theorycrafting about the implications of how the "banishment" happens or comes to be, and what it means to "Banish the Angel's Heaven", what is our 'desire', in this instance?

The more likely and logical option:

After we, the player, the SOUL, are essentially banished from the story and from Kris, we get sent back to the depths, to Gaster. Our desire? To play the game, as our own person, our own creation. To be in the story, fully, finally. Our vessel, finally being used for its intended purpose.

but what if that isn't our desire, not necessarily, not our only one?

what if it's Gaster himself?

Let's be real here, Gaster has a (possibly restrained) fondness for the player. He's fascinated by us, in awe of our ability, maybe more.

And who could blame him, really?

If you were a humble scientist and you created a Device to come in Contact with a being from beyond any world you know, would you not at least be a little smitten? At the very least, in a scientific perspective?

It's no wonder he can barely contain his excitement, even when we're mentioned in the prophecy, the soul.

None of the other prophecy snippets use an exclamation point like this. The way I see it, this is a self-report.

Back to the point of the Player, the only question is, is this excitement reciprocated?

Well of course, it obviously depends.

As one brain-rotted UTDR fan who's dug through every possible secret to be found, Gaster has been an obvious focal point of interest. He's the biggest secret in Undertale, after all. He's been talked about for almost a decade at this point, and has such a big following for a character that, frankly, barely exists.

and for him to be a major part of DELTARUNE, his Survey Program, his calls to the online space when he wants our attention?

As a player, as a secret-hunter, isn't the thought of being reunited with such an interesting character at least a little bit desirable? He was looking for us, after all. We were the big secret for him to hunt, instead of the vice-versa. To me at least, it feels flattering. If not a little creepy, it's admirable.

Imagine getting to have a full conversation with him, maybe getting to ask him a question, even if it's only just one.

The idea doesn't have much merit, but I think it's fun to think about when taking Corestrings into account. It's not meant to be a concrete or serious theory by any means.

In fact, if Gaster IS the point of desire, that doesn't mean the Vessel thing can't still happen. It could be a double-meaning.

And how would one such as him even react, to something such as reciprocation, comradery, from a higher being? It's hard to say. But with someone as lonely as him, I imagine maybe he would feel joy.

my conclusion and tldr; This specific part of the prophecy is Gaster's selfship fanfiction of him and the player? Rizz???? Could be.

I feel like there's other Gaster/Gerson connections that go back to undertale: 1) Gerson is the one who talks about the Delta Rune and prophecy 2) The fact that both names start with G make Gerson an alternate possibility of who the fun event phone call that leads into the Wrong Number Song was meant for 3) While the original fanart version of the Undertale Arcana had Gaster as The Hermit, but when the set was officially licensed and expanded as official merch, Gerson took Gaster's place

I always found it interesting that back in Undertale, when Gerson 'explains' the Delta Rune in the context of the Prophecy about the Angel That Has Seen the Surface (an interpretation that no Player had any reason to question back during the UT era since both the True Pacifist and Murder ending kinda fulfil it), he still emphasizes that it's just a common interpretation and that the real meaning has been 'lost to time'

... also hey, did you know Kris canonically knows the Wrong Number Song?
