Idk if it's the whole posh boy looking much less put together, crying his heart out because he's bitten off more than he can chew or if it's the way you can hear him choking on sobs and whimpers but either way that sectumsemptra incident is my favourite thing in existence and Snape showing up to heal him is *chef kiss*, when he falls to his knees like the combination of bloodied and crying Draco is a critical hit and maybe it's the intimacy of it but I'm completely feral normal about the possible woundplay element

Hermione Granger never really hated Draco Malfoy. Hate was such a strong word. Dislike? Maybe, but never hate. She always wanted to be the better person, just as her mum told her, and started ignoring all those Slytherins calling her derogatory names.

Hermione saw him most of the time walking alone the corridors while she was reading a book at her favorite spot in the castle. He didn't see her, but when she managed to take a glance at him, he was panicky and paranoid. Miserable.

He looked... ill.

She started following him at a distance. She was curious to where he's going. Maybe, she'll prove to Harry that he isn't doing anything out of the ordinary.

She followed his steps, turned to the halls he passed by. He was fast, like he knew he was being followed. She started to jog to catch up.

When she turned to another hallway, she felt her heart stop as she was grabbed by her arm, pinned to the wall with a wand pointed on her neck.

"Are you following me, Granger?"

The look in his eyes were... deadly. This wasn't the Draco Malfoy she knew. It was like... he was replaced by a monster.

He was pointing and pushing his wand further to her neck. It hurt.

"Malfoy, you're hurting me."

He didn't bother. His eyes were still hauntingly planted on hers.

"Stop... Draco..."

She struggled. And she felt him moving away from her.

Hermione stared at him still. It was the first time she was this close to him since that time he slapped him in third year.

She was right. He looked ill and gaunt.

His skin paled, as he just realized what he had done. He took a few steps back from her, and continued to walk away.

Hermione was too scared to follow, but her eyes were still fixed onto his tall frame, walking away from her.

She shivered. Should she tell Harry about what just conspired? Or should she just let Draco be?

She stilled for a moment and huffed a sigh.

She decided not to tell anyone.

She slowly went back to Gryffindor tower. In her mind, still lingering, were the faint sobs that she heard from the girl's bathroom. One that she's sure didn't belong to Myrtle.

Okok so Snape burning Malfoy manor down is fun, but just consider Snape goading Draco to burn Malfoy manor, with fiendfyre.

Draco frantically trying to stop the flames before everything gets eaten up in the never ending blaze. The fear bleeding into frustrated, angry tears because he doesn't know how to stop it, trying to get Snape to tell him how to do it, even if he's the one who orchestrated it. Dithering between wanting guidance and wanting to leave, because the way Snape's smiling is off, it looks wrong on his face, mouth too wide, showing too much teeth, it looks vindictive and snake-like and he almost looks pleased at the outcome. But there's nobody except Snape, so he's got to put his trust in his godfather's hands, even though he knows it's the worst place to put that trust
