"We need to stop the Evanuris, but I'd rather we didn't destroy the world in the process. If you're certain you can control its power, tell me that. In those words. No equivocating.
Also, you and I both know what this dagger means to you. I don't cast my best spells when my spirit is unbalanced. Do you?"
Felassan to Solas, somewhere in ancient Arlathan... 😢
Codex Entry: Additional Wicked Grace Rules
In Davrin’s handwriting
- No cheating
- No arrows at the table
- No Rivaini rules if we have to get up earlier than midday
- If Assan eats a card, it’s out of play
- Smelling the other players counts as cheating (this includes Spite)
- If you run out of gold, you can still bet something of similar value (just keep your clothes on in front of Manfred)
- Card counting counts as cheating (sorry, Bellara)
- Card counting while being a detective still counts as cheating
In Neve’s handwriting You’re just sore I cost you 10 gold
- Rook’s going to cheat anyway. When playing against Rook, you can ignore up to 3 rules
When I got to work at the bakery Tuesday, before I was even fully in the door, the owner asked me if I had any recipes that would use up a bunch of apricot…
And I was like actually… You know what, yes, yes I do. And I’ve been wanting to make it for MONTHS now. So I whipped out my phone, pulled up the DA Wiki, and made Nevarran Hazelnut Torte (with some slight modifications for what we had on hand). AND IT’S SO FREAKING GOOD YOU GUYS! I have all of the actual ingredients at home and I’ve been meaning to make it, so this was a pretty good test run.
I did tell some of my coworkers where the recipe was from (because they only see me this excited about something when it’s nerdy) and they were all for it. One of them has also been reading my Emmrookanis fic, so she knew exactly which characters I was talking about.
I also did a cute little blurb for our social media post, “Achievement Unlocked! Take your tastebuds on an adventure with this Apricot Nutella Cake with layers of fluffy chocolate hazelnut cake, tart apricot preserves, covered in rich dark chocolate hazelnut ganache.”
This was definitely more “cake” than “torte” because of the substitutions, but I feel like the flavour profile should be pretty similar…

Lucanis Lunchboxes: Toasted Vanilla Gelato
What if Lucanis packed Rook lunchboxes with little notes in them throughout the main story?
On the map, a "!" icon appears in the hallway just outside Rook's room in the Lighthouse. A temporary chest here holds a one-of-a-kind Valuable and a letter from Lucanis that is added to the Codex. Triggers after the completion of Taash's companion quest Lair of the Dragon King.
[SPOILERS] Read the letter from Lucanis below the line:
So... I revamped some Codex Entries to match the Rookery's world-state
I put in mentions of Zevran on some codex entries, mainly these (which is neutral enough for all playthrough with Zevran being a live i think), and some missives (that were from npcs which i re-purposed to be Zevran who wrote & sent them)
and most important of all, letter from mum & dad🥹💖
i've added a few moments of Rin interacting with the Lighthouse as well, i'll put more details below the cut
The Blades of Queen Madrigal
Summary: The famous Antivan ballad, The Blades of Queen Madrigal, as transcribed by Brother Genitivi, unpublished. Located in a folio in the abandoned Chantry library in Treviso.
Read below (680 words) or on AO3.

Codex Entry: Unpublished Journal
A hand-written note accompanies the ballad transcribed below in Brother Genitivi's handwriting. These pages have never been published.
While almost all tales of the death of Queen Madrigal are apocryphal at best, this form of the traditional Antivan ballad seems to contain several details that are omitted from later versions. It is worth noting that this version is passed down only through the bloodline members of House Cantori, with strict traditions around who may play it in public. I was lucky enough to attend a performance myself, and have attempted a translation to Trade. This will make an excellent inclusion on the section for Queen Madrigal, even if the notion that her son, Eladio, survived as a Crow after his disappearance is quite fanciful at best.
A second note on a thick, embossed paper card is pinned neatly to the page, signed only with blood sketched into the shape of a feather.
A scribbler of notes would be wise to consider to whom he tells the tales of the Crows. Perhaps this is a song better left sung by those who remember.
