“Alien Abduction” Model: Talia Hershewe
This was a spontaneous photo on the way back from the Dragon Lights Chinese Lantern Festival in the Wilbur D. May Arboretum at Rancho San Rafael. As dusk approach, I was ready to put my camera away since there weren’t much natural light for portraiture. Talia saw these construction lights along the pathway and said, “Look, we can do an alien abduction shot!”. So I proceed to google images of “alien abductions” and did my best to recreate one. I told her to lean back, drop her arms back and then jump up. It took about 40 shots to get this. Shot on the Nikon D5 with the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 VR at 1/400 at f/2.8 at ISO 1250.

The Dragon Lights were absolutely stunning! Totally worth the late night!
