I listen to albums in which I like the majority of the songs but there's one or two that I don't like/don't like as much and might skip. Not liking a couple of songs isn't necessarily not liking most of the album, and personally I like songs individually anyway so when I listen to an album it's because I like a lot of the songs and not necessarily because I want an experience of the full album. When I was younger, I bought albums bc I thought I was supporting the artist so it was v common for me
idk, i prefer albums to individual songs usually. like, i’ve gotten into kpop recently and that’s a musical landscape centered around singles more than albums, but as for the rest of the music i like, i seek out albums more than i seek out songs. i look specifically for albums that make an artistic statement across it, and have a narrative that runs through it, flow from one song to the next, etc. Fever Ray’s self titled, Behemoth’s The Satanist, Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly and Good Kid Maad City, Idles’ Brutalism and Joy as an Act of Resistance, every Death Grips album, Tyler the Creator’s Igor, Earl Sweatshirt’s I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside, Milo’s So The Flies Don’t Come, Oathbreaker’s Rheia, The Knife’s Shaking the Habitual, Panopticon’s Autumn Eternal, like idk that’s just going through my goddamn saved albums on spotify lol. I like listening to a full album the way I watch a movie or listen to a podcast episode or something… rather than just watching individual movie scenes or MBMBAM bits on youtube haha.
