[12/17/25] - Trade Agreement (Ion / Ace)

Players: Ion (Ion), Ace (Ace)

“For whom this may concern, 

I write to the current resident of this beautiful mushroom island. I would be interested in providing a trade deal, given you have resources I am interested to partake in. I will arrive this coming Wednesday and I hope to see the leader of these fine lands then.

The Magician Ion”

Ion requests a trade deal with the Mushroom Island resident, Ace. Ace recognises the Magician somehow, and this seems to spook them. Ion is interested to know more about where Ace might have been. The two reach an agreement for trade and part on good terms.

Transcript Masterlist

[It’s peaceful on the Mushroom Island. The wind rustles through the wheat and shakes the tomatoes ever so slightly. Ace is relaxed as she tends to the crops, her actions familiar and practiced. 

The peaceful scene is disrupted somewhat by the sound of a warpstone activating. The Magician Ion appears, slightly rustled by the wind, and smooths down her cape as she checks out the area]

[20:25:40] <[rp] Ion> Hello?

[20:25:47] <[rp] Ace> Hello?

[20:26:00] <[rp] Ion> Ah, you must be the resident of these fine lands

[20:26:10] <[rp] Ion> Did you get my correspondence?

[20:26:31] <[rp] Ace> I did!

[20:26:40] <[rp] Ace> You said you were interested in trading?

[20:26:50] <[rp] Ion> Yes yes,

[20:26:57] <[rp] Ion> first let me introduce myself

[20:27:10] <[rp] Ion> I don't believe I saw you at my meet and greet

[20:27:19] <[rp] Ion> I am the Magician Ion

[Ion flourishes her purple cape, trying for some dramatic flair. Ace doesn’t seem impressed by the flourish, but squints at the name ‘Ion’]

[20:28:12] <[rp] Ace> Ion, huh? I'm not sure why, but that name sounds vaguely familiar to me

[20:28:19] <[rp] Ion> Oh?

[Ion seems to squirm a little]

[20:28:28] <[rp] Ion> Surely not

[20:28:32] <[rp] Ace> And now that I think about it, you look familiar. Have we met before?

[Ion sweats]

[20:28:55] <[rp] Ion> Ah, just one of those faces, you know

[20:29:37] <[rp] Ace> Perhaps, though it's very strange. I could swear I've seen you before

[20:30:29] <[rp] Ion> Hmm, well tell me more about you. Have you been here long?

[20:32:03] <[rp] Ace> I've only moved here recently. I travel quite frequently

[20:32:15] <[rp] Ion> Oh

[20:32:26] <[rp] Ion> Whereabouts have you visited previously?

[20:32:32] <[rp] Ion> Not the core worlds?

[20:34:12] <[rp] Ace> Not the core worlds, no

[20:34:20] <[rp] Ace> Mostly smaller, less populated ones

[At this, Ion visibly relaxes. Ace doesn’t comment on this]

[20:35:12] <[rp] Ion> What brings you here then?

[20:36:35] <[rp] Ace> I came across this world while traveling. I like to see what different worlds have to offer before I decide to settle. It seemed like a nice place to live.

[20:37:29] <[rp] Ace> I figured I'd establish a small kingdom here. I haven't succeeded in the past, so I'm hoping that this one works out

[20:37:42] <[rp] Ion> A fair justification for a traveller. Are you the only one established in this biome?

[20:38:20] <[rp] Ace> As far as i'm aware. I haven't seen anyone else around besides you

[20:38:42] <[rp] Ion> Fantastic, so I can address you as leader of this island

[20:38:51] <[rp] Ion> I have a need for a material you possess

[20:39:08] <[rp] Ion> in order to improve the base that I have set up for myself

[20:39:19] <[rp] Ion> Are you open to trading?

[20:39:25] <[rp] Ace> Yes, I would be the one to go to for that.

[20:39:29] <[rp] Ace> I would love to trade!

[20:39:34] <[rp] Ace> What are you in need of?

[20:40:11] <[rp] Ion> What I need is mycelium. A good amount. I can use less and spread it naturally, but I'll need a bulk to start with

[20:40:40] <[rp] Ion> I can offer potion subscriptions, warpstone reparations, and other magical trades in return

[20:42:21] <[rp] Ace> that sounds perfect! If you'd like to collect in bulk, I would recommend you take from the far end of the island where I haven't expanded to yet. You can take as much as you need!

[20:42:34] <[rp] Ion> Oh, show me where?

[Ace leads Ion over a small mound to the far side of the island, gesturing at the area in question. Ion takes out a smoking purple crystal and draws a faint line at the boundary, finishing with a snap of her fingers as the rest of the crystal disperses into lilac vapour.]

[20:44:59] <[rp] Ion> This will be a good supply

[20:45:06] <[rp] Ion> My gratitude to you

[20:45:22] <[rp] Ion> What can I provide for you in return?

[20:45:56] <[rp] Ace> I don't believe there's anything I need at the moment, but I will be sure to let you know when I do!

[20:46:01] <[rp] Ion> oh

[20:46:08] <[rp] Ion> so an IOU

[20:52:09] <[rp] Ace> Actually, I am interested in that potion subscription you offered before. What does that include?

[Ion’s eyes light up]

[20:53:06] <[rp] Ion> Well, I will be soon establishing a subscription based potions store. Monthly payments for a provision of potions

[20:53:21] <[rp] Ion> I can offer a free subscription in reward for trade

[20:54:11] <[rp] Ace> Sounds perfect!

[20:54:58] <[rp] Ion> Wonderful, I'll sign you up. You'll receive a letter with your first batch, and you can send requests to my P.O. box at spawn

[20:55:51] <[rp] Ace> Sounds good! Pleasure doing business with you!

[20:56:07] <[rp] Ion> Lovely meeting you, I don't think I caught your name?

[20:56:24] <[rp] Ace> My name is Ace!

[20:56:51] <[rp] Ion> Enchanted, Ace

[20:57:14] <[rp] Ion> I must get on my way. A Magician's work is never over

[20:57:24] <[rp] Ace> Nice to meet you!

[With that, Ion activates her warpstone and vanishes from the island, leaving the echo of portal sounds behind. Ace goes back to her crops, the island peaceful once again]

The Echoes of Oakhurst | Teaser

I've been invited to join a new Vampires SMP server called The Echoes of Oakhurst! I'm so excited to finally share this! Filming starts next week, so get ready!

The little summary for my fic!

This fic is inspired by The Umbrella Academy (if it wasn't obvious by the name).

I try to give each character some kind of arc (no matter how small) so they aren't just there.

Tubbo is actually featured (included in SBI family) and has a part other than being there to push another character forward.

I try to give characters powers connected to their dsmp counterpart, but it doesn't work for all of them, so I just tried to give them something else that was fitting.

I hope you're willing to give my fic a chance!
