Do you know the Peter Gabriel’s song “Book of Love”? Bc I was reminded of its existence and holy CRAP it gives soft Jason vibes to me!!!
Ari Note: Omfg. I looked it up because I thought I did- I do and I thought it was a South Park thing.
"Jay what's all this?" you murmur, looking around. There were candles everywhere and roses. And Jason was wearing a shirt that had sleeves.
"Since our first date kinda- went horribly wrong I thought I'd try again," he said, crossing the floor to kiss you hello.
You lean into the kiss and when he rests his hands on your lower back to steady you, you smile a little. He'd learned a lot since the first date when he'd accidentally hurt you by pulling you out of your chair to "help" you to your feet before you were ready to be on your feet. "It wasn't all bad," you tell him, "The cake you made was really good."
Grinning, he kissed you again and carded his fingers through your hair, "I made it again," he promised. "And I thought-" he broke off, cheeks coloring, "I thought I could read to you for a while, maybe- I know your back's not been real happy about you standing and-"
"What'd you bring to read to me?" you ask, smudging a kiss against his jaw.
He glanced towards a small stack of books near a hammock he'd painstakingly made sure there were plenty of pillows you could get comfortable with. And if that didn't work, he'd just have you sit in his lap. "I- I uh- I wasn't sure so I picked some of your favorites."
"Why are you so nervous?" you tease, "Afraid I'm gonna bite?"
"Hoping, actually," he smirked.
He kissed you quiet and hugged you a little tighter, "There's no rush for that," he murmured, "I just wanted- we're not going to do anything you think is gonna hurt. Not today. As much as I wanna get you naked, I'd rather you not have to be loaded or on pain killers."
You wince and he smiles a little, "I can wait- but dinner can't. It's getting cold."
"We can't have that," you tut.
"Absolutely not," he said, leading you to the table and pulling out your chair and kissing your head.
