reminder that we don't know the timeline for blake's adventures in v4 because the writers never gave one, so we don't know how long they were on the boat & most important of all. sun doesn't fit the criteria for stalking: which is following with intent to cause psychological distress or harm.

if we can use terms as they're actually meant to be applied, anon, it would save everyone a lot of headaches. blake's emotional state does not excuse abuse no more than adam's trauma excused his abuse of her. blake violently hit sun multiple times, simply for the "crime" of annoying her. she's abusive.

Sun has flaws that should be considered: his leadership issues, his recklessness. But to call him a stalker?? Not even close. Again, Blake has a history of doing dangerous things on. Her. Own. Knowing that about her and being a caring person, Sun would most likely come because he doesn't want her hurt anymore than she already has in Beacon.

I also fucking hate the trend of a male character's trauma being underplayed in order to make them worse characters (even in the case of Adam, and none of it excuses his abuse on Blake) while a female character's being uplifted as a "get out of jail free" card for any heinous actions they commit. Almost every hate anon/anti-rwde have this going on, and it needs to stop.

Blake abusing her friend? She's being stalked! Cinder constantly slapping and verbally abusing Emerald? She was a child slave! Salem making sure that every incarnation of Ozma remembers that she can always kill them in their little prey-predator dynamic? She was locked in a tower all her life and was grieving his death!

Enough with this already. The characters are flat like this, and it won't make me like them at all. And it doesn't make you look good, anon. It makes you an abuse apologist.

what hobbies do you think this boy has or is he just staring at a wall in his off hours thinking of vengeance (which. mood tbh, me when i'm in work)

Hm. Staring at a wall thinking about vengeance is without a doubt an option - certainly that over self-reflection or, god forbid, healthy coping mechanisms.

I think he’s the type of person to avoid off hours. He’s going to be putting all his time into identifying missions, planning missions, executing missions, and dealing with the aftermath of missions. The busier he is, the more he’s doing, the more he can sate both the vengeance and sense of justice that drive him. His own hobbies don’t contribute to that, so they aren’t priorities.

That said, things that contribute to his ability to do things would have time carved out for them: weapon maintenance, training, etc. Somewhere in there is sewing, at first to repair his clothes and then for his banner, gloves, and coat.

I've... honestly never been into shipping enough for me to have any NoTPs. I guess Post-Beacon White Rose. When Weiss became nicer the dynamic that made WR fun was lost.

9: Most disliked character(s)? Why?

Blake, probably. But that's more in the meta-sense of having her racism arc end with "Sure, racism's kinda bad... but shitty boyfriends are even worse!" Doesn't help that since Volume 5 her whole character has just kinda floundered about in the background. Close second would be Cinder. Robyn's kinda frustrating at points, but she's barely a character in the first place.

13: Unpopular opinion about XXX character?

Jaune isn't that terrible. He gets a bit too much focus at points sure, and he was awful in the Beacon era, but he's far from the obnoxious self-insert that a lot of people paint him as. He's not that great a character either though...

No, because there's nothing wrong with her wearing it if it's just cultural references and it looks cool, completely ignoring the years of anti-Asian racism, xenophobic mockery of Asian cultural elements, straight up fetishization of Asian (particularly Japanese) women for how they look and dress.

And if it was cultural references, then you're right. Why the fuck didn't Yang and Tai, the two Asian named characters not get a design that is reflective of their Chinese heritage?

Oh yeah, because they don't look stereotypical enough for RT to mock like Vine, and both are pale enough to be white-washed like Sun. But I'm the crazy one for pointing it out to these anons.

how do you think sun would be as a dad 🥺

The best father 😭💕 he's gonna be a great baba to a couple of little rascals.

Absolutely smitten with the idea of him waking him to them biting on his fingers, only to laugh and kiss their little cheeks as he gets up to prepare for the day.

Would absolutely be the guy who brings his kids to work, showing them off like "look at my kids!!! >:D" and tossing them 5ft into the air much to their delights (and to the horrors of everyone else).

He makes mistakes sometimes, but will always let them know that he would do anything for them. This is what his cousin had taught him, how she raised him, and he will do the same for them.

He put them to bed with Vacuan songs, tells them about Vacuan folk loves and letting them know that every part of them, Faunus and all, is worth loving.

I love Sun as a father so much 💕 he's silly, but he loves with his entire heart. My sunshine love 🥺🥰.
