In trying to teach myself how to render, get used to my new art style, and just get some of my characters drawn, I decided to try out these... bust/detail sheets? They were a lot of fun! and I think you can actually see my progress as I went along lol

Sunpatch didn't notice Goosestripe twitching their whiskers at her.

Sunpatch fell while climbing a tree. She was bruised, but quickly recovered.

Harry Ruiz-Andersen - "Maneater"

The all-too-familiar Maneater, adapted into a supervillainous liger hybrid for @v-pet's superpowered universe! Somehow, she's managed to extend the scope of her business to be even more evil in this environment, but hopefully all those superheroes poking around will be able to do something about that...

Made a return to my height chart and some outfit design via four of my Lantern's Light protags— Wick, Cordelia, Monroe, and Epiphany! You may recognize them if you've been a follower of mine :)

I may do some alternate outfits/layer breakdowns later on, but for now this is kind of the "platonic ideal" of how I think of their outfits without the additional masks/bags/etc. that they're usually carrying in the story itself.

wanted to try out (mostly) emulating FR's designs for this dragon design by @synthaphone! plus how I thought the primary/secondary/underbelly would sit on it

I probably would have tweaked a few design choices/interpretations of mine (the wings, the feet/hands) if I was better versed in this style, but overall I kind of just wanted to explore design by looking at two different art styles. I think a lot of people underestimate the flexibility and freedom contained within a "style," especially one like FR's— which faces a combination of universal guidelines for its breeds and can, occasionally, underutilize the diversity it's displayed in the past.

I ended up headcanon-ing this version as some sort of non-flight-aligned... gnome dragon? Biggest of the small breeds, secretly fixes your squeaky doors and sweeps up, and likes to kick their feet up on a toadstool after a night of hard work.

And I would love to put a little suit on these guys, both versions.

She didn't know if Velvet's expression had changed— the woman's eyelids were thick, protruding, verging on swollen-looking in the way they dragged down over her eyes. But it was less disconcerting than it ought to have been— her eyes had a certain softness, a certain admiring look wherever she set her gaze. Velvet's lips— though a deathly, natural lavender in hue— always fell with a content weight, never frowning, always cushioned by her deep laugh lines.
