The Steps of Making Drama System Characters
Step by Step 1. The GM briefly encapsulates the series setting and premise. 2. The GM determines precedence. 3. First player in order of precedence proclaims their character's name and role in the Legion. 4. Second player proclaims their character's name, role in the Legion, and relationship to the first character. 5. Third player proclaims their character's name, role in the Legion, and relationship to all previously proclaimed characters. 6. In order of precedence, all remaining players continue this way. 7. In established precedence, players proclaim their desires. 8. In the same order, players define their character's dramatic poles. 9. GM chooses a new precedence order. 10. First player in the new order defines what their character wants from any other player's character. 11. The player of the chosen character defines why they can't get what they want. 12. Both players adjust the statement as needed to reflect the first character's understanding of the situation. 13. Repeat steps 10-12 for each remaining player in precedence order. 14. Repeat steps 9-12 until all characters are named as objects of two other character's wants. 15. Each player ranks their Action Types strong, middling, or weak. 16. Players ascribe "how I do it" descriptors for their strong Action Types. 17. Based on what they know of their characters, their wants, and their dramatic poles, each player completes the statement "my story is of a ----- who...." 18. A new precedence is set, play begins.
Yo, Real Talk Me
If I sat down and actually wrote out a setting module, called a Pitch, for porting 40k’s Black Crusade RPG to the Hillfolk Drama System, would anyone even be interested in that? I’ve been toying with writing the Pitch for a few weeks now, and I think it’ll be fun, but if it’s something no one online would ever even use then there ain’t no point in putting in the time. Thoughts?
Legion Structure Inspiration for Character Creation:
The Roles and Ranks of a Space Marine Legion: (Keep in mind we’re playing the most important roles, and the most influential figures in our legion.) The structure of a Legion- 1. Legion Command- Primarch, or Legion Master if Primarch has not been discovered. 2. Praetorate, also known as Ancients. (Senior Staff.) . Consular Representatives. (Senior Representatives of the Armourium, Astropathic Chamber, Navigator Houses, Librarus, Apothecarion, Master of Recruits, Masters of the Fleet, Castrum of Ordnance, Castellans of Domain, Human Auxiliary Commanders,) . I Like to Live Dangerously
and see how many roleplays I can GM at one time before my brain becomes a puddle of overworked mush.
40k Drama System Concept: "The Mark of the Mutant"
Deep within the rusty underhive of a vast industrial world, the mutant runoff of the population are born into lives filled with gang warfare, scrounging for food and supplies, betrayal, and constant persecution from the worlds above. Families, gangs, and cults fight for survival, cast away from the Emperor's light. What will yours do to survive?
The Horus Heresy RP Invite is Closed
If you were tagged in this, please read carefully! Now, it’s time for me to pick my player slots. The most important factor in picking players is going to be scheduling. Different time zones aren’t a problem, but if there is just no time to have an Episode Day at least once every two weeks, I’m afraid it won’t work out. So, I’ll make a list of interested folks, at least all the ones I saw, and I hope you all see this. What I’ll need from you, if you haven’t told me already is 1. your availability, 2. at least three desired roles within the legion (Please note, everyone, that characters from outside the legion can join as walk-on characters, but will not be part of the main cast,) and finally 3. if you would be okay with playing here on Tumblr, or if you would much prefer playing somewhere else. What I was planning to do was make a blog to act as a sort of server, or stage, where I can set scenes and begin episodes, and allow you all to reply through that. You do not have to make your own new blogs, you can use your old ones. That’s no problem. Potential Players: @time-in-red @ghost-with-the-toast @sierra-072 @ultramarineblues @primestartes @wtf-skittens @possiblyhereticalultramarine @whispers-of-the-immaterium @sonoffenris @enclaveturtle @askrogaldorn40k @askkonradcurze If you are interested, but I didn’t see a message from you, please contact me within about four hours. After that, the invite is closed for good! Also, this is going to sound a little rude I think, but hear me out: if you have a problem with someone on this list, please tell me now. Privately. I do not want actual personal drama getting clogged up in our Drama System game. I’d like everyone to be honest with me about this, if you can. I just don’t want a party that would hate itself, ya dig?
Drama System Concept: The Horus Heresy- The 2nd Legion.
A game in which the player characters (a large group, between 5-8 players) are the highest ranking/most influential figures within an alternate timeline 2nd Legion that was never lost, dealing with the drama and decisions of a legion going through the Horus Heresy. Even playing the Primarch is on the table, but not necessary, as well as all players don't have to be Astartes. Humans, and maybe even meddling xenos could be part of the player cast.
I fully recommend using the Hillfolk rules for this concept, Drama System, not 40k RP like Deathwatch. Trust me on this, especially if you would focus on the internal debates, and conflict between characters. Will you lead your legion to damnation, or will your actions forge a brighter future?
