What do you love about Drarry?

1) they’re literary foils who get to kiss. i think all literary foils should stop pretending they’re better than the other and just kiss.

2) two equally complex and sort of fucked up characters get to be shitty and feral but also kind. huge dramatic fights followed by tender moments of vulnerability. serotonin machine

3) i rmr reading the way down for the first time and losing it when draco would tell harry “you’re just a person.” it’s such a specific, humanizing dynamic in their relationship when u consider how much they’re both haunted by the need to be good. the guilt complex is a mile deep but 2 emo kings sometimes cancel each other out!!

4) i like characters i can bully and admire and they’re both a fuckin Mess but hot?? closed-off ethereal bastard 4 rugged dumbass with anger issues. that’s poggers

5) personally this text post makes me insane bc i think it is hugely romantic to be desired in this way

That day, at the Ministry, you said...

The first time Draco said I love you, it was in the way he crushed Harry to his chest in a hug of gratitude and thanks after the trial, that fateful day. 

The second time he said it was in the way he looked at the saviour walk out of the Ministry, shooting him a smile over his shoulder, like he trusted Draco to be good from now on. Internally, he swore he would be.

The first time Harry said I love you, it was in the way he vehemently attested for the man behind the podium, doing all he could to prove his worth. 

The second time he said it was in the way the way he hugged Draco back, shocked at the action, but relishing in it nonetheless. He could feel relief, elation, and just...something more, in the way they held each other.

Not a word aside from ‘Thank you’ and ‘You’re welcome’ were shared between them, yet the statement hung around their hearts all the same.

AU where Harry randomly calls home to ask Draco about his day and he interrupts him at every end of a sentence with an "I love you, you know that right?" And Draco keeps rolling his eyes because sappy Potter just can't stop being so extra. Draco later ends the call because he has to go back to his paperwork and Harry asks him to take care. It's 3AM and Harry still isn't home. Draco gets another phone call from him and he yells at the phone the moment he answers because "Fuck Potter, I'm worried sick where the fuck are you??" But it's not Potter, it's Kingsley. It's 4AM when Draco arrives at the ministry and Kingsley tells him the news. 5AM and Draco is clinging to Harry's jacket, breaking down in Pansy's arms because "Fuck you, Potter why didn't you tell me." It was 4 in the afternoon when Harry had been badly injured and rushed to St. Mungo's, and all he kept asking for was his phone because he knew he wasn't gonna make it, and the last thing he wanted to hear was Draco's voice.
