Day 21/30 - Take ten pieces of scratch paper and just draw/doodle all over like it’s a seventh grade notebook. Cover all the space - no rules ! The goal is to find recurring patterns, connections and marks that have become unconscious part of myself ☺️🖊 // This was a fun and quick challenge. I just did these in my journal as there are only few pages left in it and I want to move onto another journal 😀 // P.S. - Was woken up by loud cackling geese at 5:30am and couldn’t go back to sleep, so now I’m trying to be productive and catch up with all my remaining challenges. Day 20/30 - Fear can sometimes be a good motivator and sometimes can also be a big hindrance. 😖 So for today I had to write a list of fears as a way of accepting and taking a step towards over coming them. // This was hard for me and I almost skipped this challenge because I totally wanted to avoid making this list and also didn’t want to admit it publicly 🙈😞 But I guess that’s the main purpose of making this list, so we can accept them and take them head on !! 👊🏽 // What are some of your fears and how do you face them ??!! Day 11/30 - This was a fun photography challenge called “once around the block” Love the word play with block 😂 \\ So the objective for this challenge was that when we are stuck in a studio, sometimes it’s hard to focus and our brains can feel like a big knot 😬 So it makes sense to stop working and get out to re sharpen our senses. Trying to see everyday banal objects in a new light can be a good brain boost 😊 \\ So I took these pics while running errands outside and since it was a photography challenge, I decided to go back to my basics of when I first started learning photography and turn them into black and white. // The purpose of this challenge was to not care about the result but lean into the process. Slowing down and taking notice of the everyday things around us that we haven’t paid much attention to. It’s brain fueling exercise and not to produce an actual piece of work. I really enjoyed this process. Usually I’m always on the go while running errands but this was a good reminder to slow down and take notice ☺️📷🖤 // Tell me how do you’ll remind yourselves to slow down and take a break ?? // P. S. Day 7/30 - Today’s creative unblock prompt was to go to a thrift store and buy an old magazine and an old book. Take them home, chop them up and make five new collages. // I already have a lot of collage material so instead of hoarding it all, I just decided to “shop my stash” 😊 I picked 3 books out of which 1 was Vogue magazine, kids Hindi rhymes book and another picture book which I never ended up using. // When I started working on these, I sort of already had an expectation of myself that I wanted to meet. What attracts me to this style of collage is minimalistic, visually pleasing and sometimes the witty word play that went with the collages, which could be direct messages or pun intended. // So I had already set the bar to meet all those goals and when I started cutting things, it wasn’t easy😬 The placement of the images and finding the right words with that image was hard...it took a while for me to get into the rhythm and this time I had set a timer, so I don’t overthink like I did last time ! I think these 5 collages turned out ok, I sort of met my goals but I feel to practice this sort of collage, I definitely need more practice for the process to go quicker.
