Been super into drdt lately

Okay so content warning: huge spoilers, brief mentions ed

Okay so see a lot of people talking about how sad Ace’s trial and execution were. A lot of people talk about what he went through mentally but we forget just how much physical pain he was probably in as well. To start with the obvious, his neck had been cut open less than two days ago. This probably caused extreme damage to his throat and we can see that it’s hurting him from the way he grabs his neck each time he yells. And he yells a lot in this chapter. The second thing was a little more subtle but when I realized, I was shocked. I find the specific wording used in aces motive to mean something quite dark. Ace wasn’t just hungry or fasting. He was quite literally starving. To quote his motive “your body is falling apart”. Starvation is a long and horribly agonizing process where the body goes weaker and weaker until eventually it begins to give up on itself, often times having muscles or organs fail in order to save energy. Ace went through not only the entire trial in this state, but also his execution. In addition, ace didn’t have a quick execution. He went through nine different types of death. Each of which, he had to run to escape. When we factor in his preexisting state, this execution becomes all the more horrific. An injury to the throat can make breathing in general worse, but with the edition of the hyperventilation both from fear and physical strain, his lungs must’ve felt like they were on fire. Then with the compiled agony of having to run and physically exert himself while going through the process of starvation? His body was running solely on adrenaline and energy that he didn’t have. At first I was a little confused by Ace’s execution as fear induced cardiac arrest is incredibly rare for anyone but even more so for someone as young and active as Ace. It wasn’t until I had this realization of his physical condition that I understood.

Acevi hanahaki au would actually go so hard. This trope works perfectly for them cuz realistically Levi doesn’t like Ace back and it’s very one sided. Yeah Levi tries to care for Ace and all, but romantically?? Ace doesn’t have a chance. Unless it’s like..Levi is oblivious of his own feelings or smth. Ofc Ace is the one with the disease and it pairs so well with his fear of death! Yaaay! I usually like when the person who has the disease coughs up flowers that give off the vibe/look of the person they’re interested in. Ace coughing up hydrangeas could be pretty fire. Those flowers remind me of Levi in a way. However, flower meanings in hanahaki au’s can play a big role. So another super good option would be for Ace to cough up spider lilies. In short, they mean death and they even look like Ace with the red and all. Not sure if this Acevi au would take place during the killing game. It could be paired with a non-killing game atmosphere. I may add details to this Acevi au later :3

I was listening to ‘My Immortal’ while drawing some drdt fanart- at the ‘I wiped away all of your tears’ lyric, it reminded me of when David reassured Arei- what if Arei really did khs and David’s trying to cover it up by lying left and right-

I know it’s too unlikely, showing that we have like 1 piece of evidence for it, but it’s something that popped up in my head when I was listening to music-💀

Sad DRDT dream I had:

Ch2's killer was Nico, they're found out and executed. I don't remember how that goes, though.

However, it's after the execution that I remember. It's very silent with no music or sound effects. Just Hu sobbing. Like, realistic sobbing. It sounded like a real person crying out for someone that they just lost. Her cries for Nico I still hear while typing this.

But it doesn't end there.

David walks up to her while she's on her knees and bawling her eyes out, puts her hand in her shoulder, and coldly says "It should've been you.", then walks away.

Then it ends there.

My thoughts: Wow... just, wow.

The lack of music or sound is a bit scary, but Hu's crying sounding real is disheartening. It sounded like a mother sobbing because of the death of her kid. And then for David to walk up and tell her "It should've been you." just hurts even more.
