As a hyena who can’t eat meat (religious reasons) the struggle is real! If your dad doesn’t want you eating meat, there’s some really good substitutes I could tell you if you’d like! There’s also some cheaper meat options like slim jims or pepperoni. Hope this is helpful!

I feel like everyone is against bullying until they actually look at the kids who are being bullied.
The cheesy anti-bullying tapes that they show in schools feature these skinny straight white neurotypical kids who get picked on for no reason. Usually the insults are something along the lines of “You’re a loser!” or “Get lost, freak.” All the kids watching immediately feel bad for the victim, and think “Aw! She didn’t deserve that!”
Then, ten minutes later, they go pick on some marginalized kid without thinking twice. As an autistic person, I was often this kid. The insults I heard growing up were not “You’re a loser!” or “Get lost, freak.” They were “Don’t let the retard work with us” or “Shouldn’t she be going to the special school?”
The problem is we teach kids that bullying occurs for no other reason other than just to be mean. This could not be further from the truth. Bullying occurs because as a society, we condition kids into hating fat, black, neurodivergent, queer, and disabled people. Kids don’t bully each other just to be mean. They do it because if something’s “wrong” with the person, it’s completely justified.
But of course, we can’t tell kids this kind of stuff. We can’t say, “Hey! Making fun of your gay classmate is bad!”
Because when we do, suddenly the phone calls come pouring in, each with a parent on the other end screaming “You can’t be feeding my son that liberal propaganda!”
I had a six foot high school jock chase me down the hall screaming “f@gg0t you don’t belong in this school!” I moved schools and my new one was a lot more diverse and better. Then I got hate crimed. And guess what??? No one did shit either times. So to all the people who watched then told me to get over it, you’re just as bad. Grow a spine and actually stand up for people, even if they aren’t skinny, straight, white, abled, neurotypical, ect.

Nonhumans of Tumblr, what kind of stories about nonhumans do you prefer?
A) Realistic stories which focus on 'slice of life' and modern therian/nonhuman culture (e.g. a story about a young therian wearing a mask and doing quads with their therian friends)
B) Realistic stories with less focus on modern therian culture and more focus on the experience of being therian/nonhuman (e.g. a story in which the focus of the narrative is the MCs therianthropy or other such nonhuman identity and how that impacts other things in their life)
C) Semi-realistic with wish fulfillment elements that can become fantastical (e.g. a story in which being nonhuman is fully accepted by society and integrated into it and/or there are scientfic procedures that can transition you into your 'type etc)
D) Unrealistic stories about 'humans' learning they're not actually human and being able to do something about it because of magic or extremely sci-fictionlike reasons, including stories about shapeshifters etc whether they use terms like 'nonhuman' and 'therian' or not.
E) Stories that aren't technically about nonhumans, but have certain vibes to them that you relate to.
F) Some combo of the above/all
