Women Who Werq

Amongst the many women that I have worked with, one of the biggest fashion quandaries is always the workplace wardrobe. For any woman, a professional wardrobe is a precarious balance: On one hand, she wants to be polished, appropriate and taken seriously; at the same time, no woman wants to lose her femininity, her personality or her own sense of style. The predictable suiting styles, the drone charcoals and white dress shirts get rapidly tiresome. 

  So how does she make her professional attire work for her? Play with twists on suiting. Introducing leather jackets, bold colors, exciting textures, or adventurously cut blazers give that cue of strong suiting without going drab. Introducing these new colors and textures can transform traditional suiting. Pairing these pieces with great accessories and a playful shoe rejuvenates any work wardrobe, adding personality and life while maintaining a professional and strong image.

Club Monaco - Collection

Club Monaco always comes to life in their fall collections-- rich burgundies, navies, chic knitwear and delicious leather detailing. Previously known for their classic monochrome collections, Club Monaco has really come in to their own in the past year mixing their classic silhouettes with exciting rich colors and edgier modern details. With monthly collections, their style rapidly develops, exploring different color palettes and playful new window displays. For me, Club Monaco has always really been a fall/winter brand and this year their first step toward fall doesn't disappoint. Their September collection is tonally and texturally luxe with the perfect touches of leather and quilting.

Animal Instinct

This Fall, add a little life to your wardrobe by unleashing some fun new prints and textures. From fur to snakeskin, animal instinct is everywhere this season. Nothing says Fall like a lush fur from Liska, or better yet this unbeatable quilted jacket with a luxe fur breastplate from Ferragamo. Similar in its armor-like structure, this new FW2013 Balmain skirt still has me drooling.  For the lighter side, McQueen, Jason Wu, and Marni have all added adventurous  florals and feathers to their fall collections, all of which are beautifully complimented by bold Alexander Wang or Chanel snakeskin clutches. For the real wild-at-heart, J. Mendel's shaggy fur clutches and bags define luxurious texture. And the perfect Balmain bangle or Native Jewels snake bracelet, add that punctuating touch. No outfit is complete with a show-stopping shoe like these snake-skin Louboutins or the dreamiest Alexander Wang's.
