Star Date: Biology of the Drexx The Drexx are the Warrior Species in my Sci-Fi setting called Star Date

Drexx are a brutal warrior species from the planet Kett. Having a strong sense of honor and glory Drexx will often use combat for conversation to ending disputes. However, it should be noted though they are gladiatorial, they are not bloodthirsty.

While a single warrior's reputation is valued, if a sole Dexx jeopardizes a group they become a liability. Glory matters little to them if its selfish and desolating. Simply put, they seek battle, but there's no i in team.

Being a Matriarchal society the difference between the sexes and genders are viewed more as a life-stage than anything else. Females lay eggs that hatch into larva a few weeks or months later.

When a Drexx larva molts they are male. Once they become sexually mature they do into rut for some time. After several successful breeding session they mold into a female. They will remain so for a majority of their life until old age where they molt once more.

Drexx

A warrior race of saurian-like mammals the Drexx are powerful enemies and great allies. They go though several stages of their life cycle. 

Drexx lay a small cluster of eggs that hatch into larva. They will eat non stopped until they form a chrysalis in a few weeks. These are strung up in a safe location in the home and painted with symbols representing the infant's name &family. Months later they emerge.
