this didn't so much 'remind me', since it's always simmering under the surface, but watching PHM reminds me of how much I adore first contact stories-- especially in books, where they're allowed to get weird and confusing and lean into how different aliens would likely be. If anyone has any they'd recommend, PLEASE let me know, because i'm always on the hunt for more.
