Bubble Blooper [+Dried Blooper]
Bubble Blooper is a fun one, not many Mario characters transform into a character mid battle
Name: Blooey
Debut: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Wow. So this is it? This is that show that kids and adults alike have fallen in love with? The show that's getting an entire section in the Animal Kingdom at Disney World? I can't say I expected the show to end up being a golden-brown squid who appears in one game. But it's nice to know that so many people can interpret such profound meaning out of this fellow!
Blooey is one of Luigi's Partners That Hate Him For His Bumbling Antics. Luigi's lack of dexterity led him to throw Blooey into lava, but don't worry! This is fictional lava, so it's just a minor inconvenience! Blooey probably just bounced up with a flaming butt (?) crying "wahahahahaha". And he is now a crisp golden brown. Even his eyeballs! Me-ouch! (that would be a good joke if he was a cat)
I wouldn't eat him, and I apologize to him if that's insulting. I just don't want to eat squid! His Japanese name brings "cookie" to mind, and I do love to eat "cookie". Could Blooey be like a mythical gingerbread man, a living cookie with an attitude all its own? Hell no he can't! He's a squid who fell into lava. We just went over that!
Blooey rather resembles Dried Blooper from Bowser's Inside Story, which is probably a coincidence, but it's nifty that two different RPG spinoffs have featured Crispy Bloopers, both in their most acclaimed installments! I know people love Super Mario RPG, but just imagine how much they would love it if there was a Crispy Blooper. Imagine if Geno was replaced with Dried Blooper. Mario's party members just show up and disappear when needed for cutscenes, but if one of these party members was Dried Blooper, then Mario could carry him around neatly in a folder. New and untold levels of immersion. Just consider it. Thank you.

Have you ever wanted to drink a squid before? Before seeing Bubble Blooper, I never did. Now I do. Life is wacky, isn’t it?
Bubble Blooper appears in Pipe Works, where the entire gimmick is “drinking water”. Awesome! That’s my favorite thing to drink! In order for Mario and Luigi to progress through this area, Bowser will need to alternate between drinking water and not drinking water in order to change his internal water level. When he stops drinking it, the water in his body instantly disappears.
Where does the water go so quickly, Bowser?
Anyway, while playing as the Bros, the top screen is grayed out so as not to draw your attention to it, but I would like to draw your attention to it! Because you can indefinitely keep Bowser guzzling water from a fountain, and he looks ridiculous. Imagine if someone saw him doing that. How embarrassing! His reputation would be ruined! They could make a whole RPG just out of the core concept of Bowser drinking water in a funny way, probably.
Remember Bubble Blooper? This post was about Bubble Blooper. When Bowser is drinking water, Bubble Blooper appears! It loves the stuff! Can’t get enough water! No kidney stones for THIS squid!
But then when Bowser stops drinking water... every Bubble Blooper becomes a Dried Blooper! Oh no! Of all the things for a squid to be, “dry” is among the least ideal. I wouldn’t want to touch this brittle Blooper out of fear of it crumbling! But Dried Blooper makes the most of it. Look at it spin! It seems to be having fun with its new flatness. It even uses it to attack, floating gently down like a leaf. I wish humans could do stuff like that. When WE’RE dehydrated, we don’t get any fun new abilities of any kind. Just discomfort and health issues. It’s like we’re not even supposed to do it!
