Our eldest child loves to collect dried flower petals and really likes the ones that still have their color and smell. I dried a large vase full of flowers for her and they were finally ready today. I pressed some Cosmos in a book and some of the petals fell off, but I should have just picked off the petals and dried them because the pollen stained the pages 😒 btw I have no idea what I'm gonna do with these. The petals are so thin and delicate, they remind me of fairy wings, and the color is just gorgeous. These tiny petals came from one of my plants, the Boronia. When in full bloom they have the prettiest tea cup shaped flowers. As it’s mostly found in Australia you may not have heard about it. Mine suffered from the high winds I get living on the top of a hill, but on the brighter side, I grew my first white Arum Lily this week… . I’m fortunate to live in an apartment with a massive balcony and access to recycled water, so in my home and work space I’ve surrounded myself with mostly tropical, jungle plants with huge green leaves… Monstera, Fiddle Leaf, Philodendron Congo, Heartleaf Philodendron, Dragon’s Tail, Elephant Ears, Bird of Paradise, Peace Lily etc… In addition I also have a young cherry blossom and 12 ornamental pear trees… . Do you have a favourite plant or tree? Dried flower petals

After seeing my small bouquet of mixed flowers slowly starting to wilt, I decided to try to preserve them by drying them. They could be useful for either decoration, candle, soap or perhaps paper making! 

All you need is a sheet of parchment paper, an oven on the lowest heat and your flowers. Carefully pick all the petals and lay them onto the paper. Spread them across so they have space to dry. Dry them into the oven, approximately 15-20 minutes depending on the petals. Once they are completely dried, take out to cool and they are ready to used for your next craft project!
